Someone might get their teeth veneered, and get them knocked out by a cricket bat the following week.
That isnt really relevant to this though is it? In normal circumstances a bridge is most likely to fail due to the biological factors I mentioned0 -

Sure, but those factors are not generally a consequence of the presence of the bridge. Existing periodontal pathology, or that which subsequently develops, is not being driven by the presence of a bridge.
Given the lateness of the hour I do hope your 9 o'clock does not find you overly soporific.0 -
WD, don't waste your breath. Theheathen reminds me of a dental tech I met when I did my work experience. He had "bought" a dental degree on line and spouted this sort of tripe to anyone who would listen.
I just think it's hilarious, now keep quiet while I count my money.
Toothsmith, I'm back now and we went to Melbourne)

That wasn't the Commonwealth games then?
Or was it like a 'Ryanair' Commonwealth games, where Melbourne was the nearest airport! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Groan, it's complicated. Because it's an affiliate sport and not part of the core of events (not enough nations) Delhi chose not to host, we go elsewhere. Still Commonwealths, just not with the main event.
Haven't you got people to rip off? I started an hour ago!

Lovely city... although warmer if left a couple more months
did you enjoy your trip?0 -

Actually I would often argue the contrary ... but this has digressed way beyond now. For someone that came on asking for advice, you clearly think you know it all so I would just do the work yourself and at least you know you arent ripping yourself off :beer:0 -
theheathen wrote: »A partial is a horrendous bargain basement way to restore a missing tooth/teeth. As regards long span bridges, as long as you're working roughly to Ante's law why should they fail? Maybe the labs concerned should switch to materials rather more durable than shortbread, and the dentists concerned stop trying to use blancmange as a cement.
QUOTE]
Aye cause the root form of the teeth is the single thing that matters isn't it? Occlusal forces, parafunction, oral hygiene, diet etc have no relevance. I refused to provide a bridge last week because although the Oral hygiene was good and the roots were fine the pulp chambers in the tooth were still large due to the patients age and I can virtually guarantee that I would be killing one or both of the teeth. I could have trousered the cash, because in all honesty it would probably be a number of years before the damage came to light, but that isn't the way I and everyone I work with choose to conduct ourselves.
Antes law also recommends double abutments which is something that I was taught to be avoided whenever possible. Not Antes fault of course, he has been dead a long, long time and research moves on but to peddle statements like that around (still presented in many online sites as fact) isn't useful.0 -

Come now, you do yourself a disservice, you've been at it your entire career.0
