  • Hiya everyone, hope you all had a good weekend, i've started decluttering the house and god it feels good! clean home, clean mind and all that :)

I was going through loads of letters and found so many reminders, and letters of arrears (pre LBM!) Also found a book that I used when I first had LBM and my outgoings in debts alone at that time were £1246 a month :O it is now £619 so we have managed to halve our monthly outgoings - whoop whoop!

So NEXT should be sending a new statment tommorow, when I last checked online the balance was £100 so gonna wait and see new balance tommorow and then hopefully (fingers crossed!) pay it off!!

Also waiting to pay VERY off but my account is abit confusing as I got it really low from about 1300 down to 200 but then had a mini relapse and bought a steam iron on buy now pay later, I also ordered 2 wedding dresses (just to look at the style, was never intending to buy) so have since sent them back but they have not yet been taken off my account so im not exactly sure how much it would cost to closed the account if that makes sense? it says that the balance should update itself within 14 days of returning anything and I sent the dresses back last Monday so hopefully it will sort itself out sharpish!

NEXT and Very are really niggling at me at the moment so wanna close them down so I can concentrate on the Credit Card, and Santander finishes next year but how great it would be if we could settle it before baby arrives - eeeeekkk!!

    Thanks for reading :) xxx

  • Hi Moneytroubles,

    You're doing a great job.

I love the feeling of clearing those smaller ones so I can turn more onto the bigger ones.

Thanks for the Benjamin Franklin quote.

All the best for the wedding, baby and the next target.

  • Thanks for posting Polka Purpura and thank you for the well wishes!

I've checked NEXT and they haven't updated the online statement yet - booooo! I want to pay it off LOL

I would love to up my income but not sure how I can do this, esp with a baby on the way, could do with working from home but again I dont know what this could be - so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Would love to do AVON but I tried this a year or so ago and cos my sister does it and has done for years I really struggled for orders as everyone I know orders from her?

Have to get my thinking cap on i think? xxx

  • mmm just spent some time in the up your income forum, and came across 'partylite' all the ladies on the thread appear to love it, so I am wondering if this is something I could potentially do? Not going to rush into anything but its nice to know about it...

Anyone else do any form of party planning, or had any past experiences? xxxx

  • Aww thanks Beccie! I've popped into your new diary :)

Well VERY has now updated my account and my balance is showing as £290 but when I take items off that are BNPL the balance is £122, Ive paid £10 off just now making the balance £112 and im going to continue to PAD and once that is paid off im going to leave the other items and focus on the credit card (I think) and then go back to VERY later, or I might just try and close it down? not sure what dooo lol

NEXT still hasnt updated our account yet so unable to see what the balance is - boooo

We have paid monthly payment to Santander today plus an extra payment as we were two months in arrears - whoops! this is my fault as I cancelled the direct debit by accident, although OH is partially to blame as its in his name and took his time to phone them up and explain! I dont get him sometimes I would be crapping my pants and would have to phone straight away but he just goes on not even phased by it?? odd man lol xxx

It is odd how some people aren't phased by things that would be panicking the life out of me! :)

  • Well I have just completed a snow ball calculator and it predicts that I wil be debt free by Apil 2013 - quite pleased with it to be honest, as when I very first joined the site last year I did it and it predicted my DFD as 2019! Would still like to get it closer but we will see! Got a letter today confirming my barclays account has been settled, it was brill seeing balance: £0

Also i realised that I worked out my debt balance wrong - der!! it is 17522.40 - not the 18+ i originally thought!
