Hello,
I have a 8Gb USB key and it's not working on any computer. Windows detects it, you hear a sound when plugged in and the then another sound (like its been removed again). Windows based, not mac.
Has it had it?
Its not that old and certainly not had a huge amount of use.
Any advice greatly received.

If it doesn't work on any pc, probably. Do you safely remove hardware before withdrawal? Is it bent?!!

What's the make? Still within a years warranty? Can you view the drive in a bootable copy of ubuntu (burn ISO to CD then boot from CD)0

It's a Sandisk Cruzer, not bent. very rarely I do the safe remove thing, I just pull it out.
Dunno if in warranty or not, I'm not interested in a replacement just would like the data on the stick.
Thanks for the tip about ubuntu, never thought of it nor used it before. But I'll give it a go when I get in from work.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -

Sandisk cruzers can be optimised for quick removal, not saying it's safe, but it doesn't enable the cache writeback or whatever it is to allow for safe removal so you basically yank
As for original poster, I'm guessing the Pins could be bent from the circuit board, they could try opening it up and bending them back onOwner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them
