Well laura you might be on to something. In previous years there has been a cheap day that ends the Sunday before school half term, which if this follows the pattern would mean an announcement on Tuesday for listing on Thursday.

The reason I remember this is because I usually go on holiday in the half term and have to alter my listings to BIN and immediate payment required as otherwise I worry that cheques etc won't arrive before I go away.

Let's keep our fingers crossed :j

Out of curiosity, how much is saved by listing on a cheap listing day?

Actually sometimes not a lot. The problem is the cheaper the day is the more rubbish gets listed, I admit i do it myself i have turbolister set up ready with all my unsold stuff just ready to go so I am as guilty as anyone.

Therefore good items often get lost in the junk, a buyer who would normally see your item may now have to plough through 5 pages of junk that isn't selling before he gets to yours.

I remember the old free auction sites like freeserve who used to offer free listings, pages and pages of unsold items, compare that to completed listings on ebay where in some categories every thing gets sold. If you pay to list you are often more careful what you list, when it is free the temptation to list everything takes over. This is another reason why I think the new 'free listing' auction sites are doomed to failure.

If you are selling cheap things like me then he difference might be between a 20p listing and say 5p on an offer day. It does however make a lot of difference if you are selling say a £25 item when the difference is between 75p and 5p (assuming a 5p day)

Hi last time i listed on cheap listing day it was horrendous!!
I didn't intentially (sp) list on that day but i always list thurs for 10 days, although i had loads of watchers and a few bids nothing changed in those last few hours or mins:mad: ?? not one item increased! ! so i am staying clear of cheap listing days .

Yep, I've had very mixed results from cheap listing days. More expensive items don't even get a bid! Mind you I never have much success with auctions at all. Used to do great with my shop, but now the rules have changed hardly selling anything at all :(
    Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)
  • This time around i was thinking of listing a load of duplicate buy it nows for 3 days (allowed 15 of each max), at daft prices like £200 for a dvd say, then once ended, editing the listings when requried and use the rule when you relist for the first time they refund your next listing fee. This should save me quite a bit, as i do a lot of buy it nows and its usually 75p or £1.50 a go to list.
