SkyCard Application

in Credit cards
I applied for this card online about 4/5 weeks ago now. A week past Monday I called to check on progress of the application and after initially disputing I had even applied, the operator then told me my application had been completed and that I would hear by post within 7 days.
Having heard nothing by yesterday, I called again and was told the same thing. They are adamant that they can't tell me the outcome of my application by phone and that I must wait on the letter.
Now what would happen if I had in fact been accepted and my card had been stolen in transit? Someone could be using a card in my name without me even knowin about it until I receive my first statement.
Surely they must be able to tell you the outcome of the application, or is BarclayCard now run by computers and the humans are merely drones!!

Its normal as the customer service is pants, They use the application period to eat into the 0% period, If you ring them make sure you avoid using the 0870 number, they keep you on the phone to generate income.0

Is it safe then to assume that because the application is taking ages, that I've been accepted and it's just taking them forever to get the card, etc?0

If they do take an excessive time to complete your application then I would complain and ask for it to be extended ......we did this and they extended the 0% deal period2014 Target;

Our application took about 2 weeks to go through. Someone contacted me and confirmed all my details over the phone. They then sent the card through, pin number etc.
Our 0% offer expires in January. We will be cancelling then. The normal rate is higher than other cards.
Gotta use my skypoints before we cancel though!:dance: "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -

Is there only me had this problem?0 -
I applied for skaycard on line and got pin about a week later and the card a few days after that. But I was stunned at the credit limit, £1000 (I had to stop Goldfish increasing my CC with them when it got to £7k - I pay it off in full every month). Whilst activating the card I asked about the £1k and the lady said it would be reviewed after 3 months, but what annoyed me, is they charge £12 if you go over even if you pay it off in full! I wonder if its a way to keep the amount of sky discount down?From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
