I normally like doing housework...apart from work, it`s the only exercise I do! :D
But the past few days have had a tooth abcess (dentist tomorrow, please pray for me to whatever god you think`ll listen, dentist phobic here! :D ) so have been sitting doing absolutely nothing as when I move, the pain throbs.
Cue livingroom curtain track to crash to the floor in the middle of the night.
The house`s revenge, I tell ye! It`s eeeevil.....
Got daughter up the stepladder now putting it back up :D
Oops..winter related? Well, make sure if ye put up winter weight curtains, the track or pole can bear the weight!
"Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!" :D

    Hi Shelley - welcome

Sorry to hear things are so tough :( Is there stuff around that you can ebay or sell in local papers?

The kids school fetes are starting soon (ish) so are you crafty? Can you make things to sell there - I usually make my Xmas money that way :D

Reminds me, once this house is sorted out, I must get the Sewing Machine out and start making things :)

    saw this whilst checking emails.

Been nosing around my airing cupboard and have found y are lined so going to safety pin those into our existing curtains later on.

Also found a radiator key so will bleed radiators later on too once I have little man home from school and his father can occupy him for a bit me thinks.

Had a peoples postcode lottery card through the post too with a free gift of £12 on it - will see if it will let me claim it later - hey £12 is £12 after all.

Anyway best be off - washing to do and got to take little miss to the doctors - she has a rash appeared on her cheek which is possibly eczema starting but want to get it seen and checked so I know what it is. No idea what dinner will be but Im really fancying sausage and chips from the chip shop - Doh! Although cheese and onion on toast sounds nice too at the minute.

Just a message to anyone worrying about housework this was always and still is my mantra
    Baby is now 26!!

    "Babies Don't Keep"
I hope that my child, looking back on today
    Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

  • Havnt posted on this thread for a while. Have bought a tumble dryer which isnt very OS but I did my research and have worked out it will be cheaper than the laundrette and I wont be tumbling all my washing. Got £30 off it too! Ive started my Xmas shopping. Got some new Roald Dahl books in a charity shop for £1 so have put those away towards my little girls pressies off Santa (does Santa go to charity shops do you think?)

Money wise though, oh dear. My wages from my main job are being cut by 20% next year and Iam currently sorting out my appeal against it, my Sunday job (in a library) has the wages frozen and there has been no overtime for ages and my ex hub has been made redundant so no maintainence off him for a while. Have rejigged my budget and Im ok but things are getting tighter and tighter.

Car is being MOT'd on Mon, lets hope she passes. Got new brakes and wipers recently and was very OS and serviced her myself! Cost £25, 3 hours and rather a lot of swearing versus £100 in local garage!

Well done you on the car servicing. I tend to look through charity shops for smellies etc to go in hampers. Fingers crossed Ill find some good bits for Ben if not cheapy decorations instead.

  • I had a bit of help with the car and some advice over what oil to buy etc. Managed to sort the brakes and pads a lot cheaper too and get them fitted. Cost about £50 instead of around £120. Go me :T
