I suppose that's true Luc, but I just don't feel very depressed most of the time. I am very on edge though and I feel out of breath all the time, but there's nothing stopping me breathing. I ran on Wednesday and didn't have any breathing problems when I was running, and you'd think if something was wrong with my lungs, it would have got worse. I am having a lot of trouble relaxing too - my muscles all keep tensing up. I'm quite scared of the side effects of the antidepressants and really don't want to take them unless I am sure they are the right.

Being 'depressed' is so much more than feeling down, just like being 'autistic' is so much more than being unable to communicate... All of the things you have described were spoken about by different people at different stages in the group I went to. If it helps, I suffered no side effects but even so the doctor monitired everything very closely. See if there is a counselling option before taking tablets or in conjunction with it? If you want to call and talk it through you have my number. I would never want anyone of my friends to go through what I did so please ask for help and take it when it is offered x

  • Snaggs, sorry to hear you're feeling a tad down at the moment.

Depression hits people in different ways and if left to its own devises without any medical intervention it can have devistating effects. I brushed my under the carpet and ended up self harming - I would pinch areas of my body until I had bruises, then one day at work I sat at my desk and cried.

Tablets do have side effects, but you're closely monitored by the Dr's.

A meet would be a great idea.

Suzy - good luck to your OH with their exam.

    Lots of love,

    LMC x

Trying to research the rules around babysitting/childcare - what a minefield. I just figured now my work is term time I could look after children in the holidays.
