hi guys!! weve had virgin media for quite a while now...
we have 10mb broadband (without line rental...as we dont have a phone line) with a L tv package n standard virgin box.
i REALLY want to record my channels...i always seem to miss them!!
so that would mean getting a V+ (which is a hd one??!)
my question is...how much would it be to upgrade, and just because u have a hd V+ do u HAVE to pay the extra £5 pm to get HD channels if u dont want them.
afterall i just want to record...not bothered about watching them in HD??!
thanks guys

nuttymummy what do you please in total then? i don't have a phoneline but assumed i'd need one to get broadband etc?0

You wont get much HD unless you move to XL TV. The £5 extra for v+ doesnt apply to XL. You might be cheaper getting a bundle which includes Phone0

i pay £31 a month for 10mb broadband and L tv.
jb66.....im not too bothered about the HD if im being honest...i just want to be able to record....can i get away with saying i dont want to pay the extra £5 a month coz i dont want HD??
i have mobile on virgin contarct too...but not as part of the bundle.

I have 10 Mb BB and L TV too with a V+ recorder. My bill is £29.50 and only went to that after I received a V+ box, it was £24.50 before and had been for years.
Ring them and try to negotiate a reduction, people often say to threaten to quit to receive a discount, but I have never done so I do not know how effective that would be.0 -
The extra £5 a month has nothing to do with HD...all your channels stay the same, it is for the recordable facility which is waived if you go to XL TV.0

You need to negotiate with VM. You are paying well over the odds for your service. I get XL TV, Phone (free evening and weekend calls), 20Mb Broadband, V+ and 2 HD enabled additional set top boxes for £45 per month. Check the price you can get via Sky and they will price match. But you will have to sign up for another 12 months.0

i rang virgin media.......they said i have to pay £40 installation, £20 delivery fee and £5 extra a month just to get a V+ box.
i argued people were getting this cheaper and he kept telling me it was impossible....they wouldnt budge on anything.
maybe mine is dearer as i dont have phone line.....i just have broadband and tv....no phone, its all through cable.
if i did id have to pay £11 line rental.
hmmmmm what do i try now?!!? LOL:dance:
