Yes, the poor souls are going to be limited to only £26k of taxpayers money per year. How on earth will they survive on that?

Back in the day our parents only had children as and when they were in a stable relationship and they could afford them.

I am stuck between two points here. I take the view Child benefit should remain a universal benefit as those that are better off should have a stake in the welfare system (and after all they are not going to be able to claim anything else) but that is should be paid FOR THE FIRST TWO children only.

The average family was always 2 children if anyone wants to be anything other than average then let them fund it themselves.

This is an example of how F&cked up the UK system is. Earlier in the year I was rennovating one of my flats and after I did the inside decided to do some work in the front garden, so I had railings installed and cut out a section of the concrete to make a nice flower bed. Anyway the day I took out the concrete out I cut the basic shape out with my stone cutter, and then had to break it out with a sledgehammer, after several hours of hard toil. I overheard these four on the footpath, with toddler in pushchair and small child, who'd stopped outside for a fag or whatever. They were on about how he'd got out of jail, and was off to get some weed, then it went onto the subject of how much benefits and whatever they'd be entitled to, because of the kids and housing allowances etc etc etc etc .....

After toiling all day on this ball breaking job it made my FFFFing blood boil to hear how much these low life scum bags could get out of the system for doing !!!!!! all apart from causing a nuisance, and littering society with their off-spring who are likely to be just as bad.

Problem is, in my experience, governments talk tough, but when it's come to the crunch in the past, they haven't cut money off dead when there are kids involved. Will be interested to see if they actually do it this time round. I can see Human Rights stuff being dragged out.
