Hello All,
We are off to Legoland on Sunday and I wanted to do a picnic as apart from the Money Saving, if memory serves me correctly the food there is pretty dreadful. Thing is, it's not exactly picnic weather so wanted to make sure the food was a bit more warming that your average summer picnic.
So far we have:
Soup in a flask
Sausages
Drumsticks
Cous cous salad with boiled eggs, cucumber, tomato etc.
Chocolate Brownies
Flapjacks
Fruit
We'll buy teas etc.
The only warming things is the soup. Any other ideas?
Thank you!!!

My OH quite likes those hot dog sausages you get in a tin - not partial myself. He works 12 hour shifts so I usually heat them up,thoroughly, pop them into a flask and send him off with split finger rolls ready to make his own hotdogs.
Whatever you do, have a great day out :wave:It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0 -

sounds yummy to me - I might just have to gate crash your picnic and save making my boring sarnies!!:rotfl:
like the hot dogs in a flask idea!, but I hate carrying all this stuff around dont you? I just want to go on the rides!!! just thought it will be too cold to go in that water area!!! brrzz - unless I knit myself a woolly swimsuit!0 -
At Legoland they have lockers available to stash your picnics in. However they take £1 which you don't get back every time you use one, so you might prefer walking an extra 10 minutes to the car!weaving through the chaos...0

I would just say that the food and drinks are very expensive and not that good quality at Legoland, so you are doing the right thing by taking your own food.
Earlier this year we paid £7.99 for a burger and chips and a drink, each!!!!
Edit for my spelling mistake!:hello:0 -
Chilli in a food flask works really well my OH is a wagon driver and often works the twilight shift so this is his hot meal for the day. In fact as chilli is not really chunky you could get it in a neck of a normal flask I think!

Hi all,
we have our 20 week scan tomorrow and one of our favourite parks is opposite the hospital so i was thinking of taking dh and dd to feed the ducks and have a nice warm picnic before the scan.
i recently bought a picnic bag at a christmas fair, its insulated and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas for warm picnicing foods?
im planning a flask of my home made soup but beyond that im drawing a blank. i was considering putting some custard in a smaller flask and taking something to go with that, maybe even a small micro sponge but thats lack of imagination really.
i have plenty of storecupboard basics and quite a few ends from joints of meat frozen as well as sausages etc. also i have kind of the opposite of an ice pack which i think would help in the insulated bag to keep what ive made warm.
Any ideas?
Thanks all

Hot soup in a flask and a pasty from local bakers to eat sitting in the car whilst watching the ducks sounds good to me.

Hi, congrats on the baby!
How about getting the warmingness from something spicy? Pasties or sausage rolls, with added fillings of chilli sauce, spicy pickled onion, etc? Or a hot curry kept warm in your flask, with some naan bread.
