Well the visit to my parents has proved to be successful. I currently have one pair of football boots and about 80 shirts sat in their living room. My Dad is a star he has got the whole community involved, had a small article in the local newspaper and his works newsletter.
These will be getting dropped off tomorrow on my way back down south so if anyone needs anything picking up let me know. I will be going M6 / M1 so can take some detours as long as its not too far off the motorway.

Having followed this thread and the Make Do And Mend thread before, I've decided to take the plunge and say ‘Hello’ I've never really posted on forums before but there is so much positivity around here that I figure it is time I plucked up the courage!!
So I am a long time follower of MSE and its forums and love it! I feel at home here with so many like minded ideas and attitudes. I’ve learned so much.
I decided to get in touch with Memory Girl to buy her book when I had an exam that I was struggling to motivate myself to study for. Well with 4 weeks to go I got the book and gave mind mapping a go. It worked and I passed!!! Result!! With 2 more exams to go to get my diploma I am motivated and can’t wait to develop my mind mapping technique (I’m good with colours but need to work on the images!!)
So now I have taken the plunge I hope that I will be able to contribute something of value to this thread and i have requested to join the ‘other’ forum too -just awaiting my login details. Really looking forward to being a small part of the matrix!

Well I have taken the plunge and done my first mind map of the 50 day challenge if anyone wants to take a look it is on my diary but be kind it is my first

Loved your mind map Double Trouble, very professional. I'm thinking of doing one to get my money claiming on track, I seem to have a real problem cancelling, moving or claiming oney owed to me, shockingly bad I am.
For instance my tax code is wrong, I have insurances to cancel and some money to transfer, some winnings on a scratch card I found today and 2 piggy banks full of coinage which needs transferring into my bank account.
Best get on with it, I'll ask DD2 for some advice.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Welcome to the Matrix Roobyroo, congratulations on passing your exam. And your fellow Fifer too :T. Yay. You're right about the positivity as well, it just oozes in this thread:). Hope you gain as much from being a part of it as the rest of us.
love your mindmap DT0 -
Mike, well done on your tada.
I think the mind builds mountains, especially in relation to tasks with links to /reminders of less happy occasions. But you've had more than enough to cope with over the past few years and it's so good that you've recovered enough to feel able to tackle this task.
My paperwork mountain dated back to 2004 when I became ill and everything fell by the wayside. I chucked everything in one large box, hoping to get round to it eventually. Like you it didn't take me long today to get to grips with it, but I have spent several years literally unable to face it and feeling inadequate as a result.
We can only do what we can do when we have the physical and emotional strength to deal with it. Given the enormous stress you were under with the house from hell, it's no wonder that your paperwork had to wait until you felt able to deal with it.
Here's to the joy of turning mountains to molehills! If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

OMG!! I'm shattered and sore
but I've managed to do loads more today than I've been able to do in ages!! Even some ironing !! dh is finishing that now,
The only thing that needs sorting in the living room now are the shelves (which I will do tomorrow) and pic's putting back on the wall. And the floors washed and mirror cleaned then its done  another room de cluttered and decorated
Kitchen is still clean and tidy, everyone put their dishes in the dishwasher after tea.
Will clean the bathroom in the morning, then start on another room de cluttering (living room)Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Hi Claire love I can't get in to the other site yet. Have been out having lunch and a good few drinks today so can't be bothered to keep trying. I'll fiddle with it tomorrow but I always got into the other site no bother with just one log in not this two thing you seem to need.
Anyway had a lovley day out shopping with a friend. I got her discount and she bought lunch so it was great!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
