Cashback deals.

Hi Guys and Girls,

I need a bit of advice on what to do if you were in my situation.

I was on a giffgaff contract spending less than £10 a month on a 3 year old and pretty battered iPhone. Sadly, this broke a few days ago so I am now without a phone and not on a contract..

I have found redemption cashback schemes on 18 month contracts where I effectively get 18 months line rental for free (providing I jump through the hoops). So as long as I don't go over the tariff details I won't have any net expenditure on line rental.

Then I have found some second hand iPhone 3G's for about £200-250 on ebay, which gives me a total cost over 18 months of £200-250 which is £11-13 averagely over the 18 months.

What do you guys think, should I risk being able to obtain all the cashback?

Link to tariff...

Edit: I can't post links, but on moneysupermarket.com they are under the Nokia 2730.

Thanks

Alex

  • Redemption offers are available with e2save.com. Couple of my friends had used this site for contract phones but they had faced problems.

for instance, e2save.com, didnt do as they promised. You've to send 6 months or 3 months's bills to get refund but many a times, they lie saying they didnt receive your bills. No use of continuously following it up with them.

So be careful. they dont follow 100% of what they promise

Dealers are dishonest sometimes so you have to know exactly what you're doing; many don't. Although these were your friends' contracts, if they had the kind of understanding of what is required as you seem to have it's not surprising they lost out. Your advice is good though; unless you are very experienced/well informed, cover yourself by following the groundrules and know what to do should the dealer not pay then you shouldn't be going near a cashback contract in my view.
  • But did they send their bills by registered post? If e2save have signed for it, they can't ever say they haven't got it.
