then i cant see how he thinks she has some how rigged the test.0 -
Thanks for explaining that and I do understand my brother on the other hand is living a halfway life and although he is not spiteful or mean he really would like this matter to be at rest so he can decide what is the best to do for the child and himself. It is eating away at him and any man in a similar position would understand.
He is not trying to tarnish or put her to shame but just wants to know. I personally am so fed up with this that it is taking its toll and I have run out of ideas what to say.0 -
The dates are really not enough at all to have doubts about the pregnancy. My last period when I got pregnant with my daughter was 2 April. I checked the books and internet, due date was given as 25 December. Then when I was scanned, i was told that due date was actually 3 January. I was very surprised as I was sure of my dates (conception), but the scan gave another picture. In the end, my midwife reverted to my due date of 25 December for some reason (in the end, she arrived 7 days late on 31 Dec), so really, I would say that if anything, the dates are pretty spot on.
But to then continue to doubt even when the DNA comes back saying there is a 99.99% chance he is the dad is holding on to desperation. How many DNA tests does he need to accept that he is the father of this child? As Kegg say, whoever the mother the tested child is, the father is still your brother.0 -
I will let him know the information that I have received from this site today which is very good and hopefully it will sink in and that will be the end of this. I am not too clued up about dates myself but as you ladies have explained things it does make a lot more sense that what I thought, thank you.0

Well, let me tell you a story and a true one at that.
Once upon a time I was a student and I worked a rubbish min-wage job to help make ends meet.
There was a manager there that I didn't like all that well. On top of that, she was also rather fat. Now it's not that I didn't like her because she was fat (I didn't like her because she was annoying!) or anything like that, but she popped out a baby all of a sudden and completely out of the blue.
It turns out that the fat hid the baby that was growing and when I asked "How can you just magically have a baby? What about her periods?" I was told that she continued to have her periods all the way through her pregnancy and that whilst it's not exactly common, it's not unheard of either.
In this instance she was even smoking like a chimney and drinking like a fish as she had no idea that she was pregnant or could be doing damage to her unborn child.
So whilst I can see what you are saying about the date of her period, it's not *quite* as clear cut as you think. It's perfectly medically possible for her to have had her period when she said she did and to still have been pregnant.
It's not common, but it's not impossible either and would explain things.0 -

Thanks fiddle, that makes complete sense and I do agree.
DX2 sorry if I misunderstood the above, been a long day on here, something I am used to and apologise if I have confused or said something not right. No harm intended.
Enough of this baby thing I have got a bloody PCN that I am waiting on LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for all the advice and help you have given today, I have really learned a lot and now see that maybe things are not as grizzly as we make them.0 -
my friend was caught on march 15th (i can be exact it was a drunken moment)
gave birth on boxing day
full term
i understand the doubts0 -
Thanks when will it end, as you know this is not heard of. My brother's alleged child was also full term0
-
i think there is some confusion around the term 'full term'. It is one usually used after the birth as opposed to 'premature'. It can be anytime from 38 to 42 weeks.0
