Dont know if this is the right part to put this in but didn't know where else.
I bought some strawberries from Tesco yesterday and go into the fridge today only to find they are mouldy, checked the date and it was yesterday. May have already been mouldy when i bought them as there is quite a bit.
I've already had to go back to the shop yesterday as i was overcharged, should i go back again or email CS?
Thanks

Email cs and complain Tell them you are not going back to store again. Do you still have till reciept as it will have item code on it, this has worked for me in the past.
Just remember next time to check the dates on them.;)0 -
Didn't bother checking the date when you picked them up then?
Just email them0 -
Just looked at receipt, no item codes. I got them in-store. what will cs do?
I'm sure all the dates said the 8th, i must have picked the odd one up lol.0 -
probably send you a voucher for the price of the strawberries or a bit more if you make afuss about how you already had to travel back to the store to resolve a pricing error. Just give it a try the worst they can say is tough you should have checked the dates.0

From http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/asksam/foodlabels/asksamlabellingrules/
"You shouldn't eat any food product that has passed its 'use by' date, because it might not be safe to eat. In fact, it's illegal for shops to sell food after its 'use by' date."
"But remember that 'use by' dates are different to other dates you may see on food products. It's not illegal for shops to sell food after its 'best before', 'sell by' or 'display until' date."0 -
i stopped buying strawberries in Tesco a few weeks back when the first 3 punnets i picked up had grey mould on them!!! yuck!!0

Your post says you bought them yesterday and they were dated yesterday, so they weren't out of date, you were just unlucky to buy them with less than a day left. It's irritating but I don't think you'd be entitled to your money backAKA: PC

They must have been mouldy yesterday too due to the amount on there today, no way all that grew over night. went back to shop and was fully refunded price of £1.99 even though i got it in the 2 for £30

take it as lesson learned,
personnally id buy strawberries from a farm shop for example, i have seen a few punnets of strawberries that have mould on them despite being kept in a supermarkets chiller0
