Migrating from Virgin Broadband - info on ipstream and datastream needed

Has anyone managed to migrate from Virgin to a good ADSL provider? I was thinking of signing up with them, (because they turn on the ADSL without a charge, and they do month by month contracts) and then migrate to a better provider. Now I hear that you can't do this because Virgin are Datastream and all the good ones are IPstream. Has anyone managed to find a way around this? Heard a rumour that you could get Virgin to switch the kind of stream they use for your connection, does anyone now if this is the case?
My first post btw!
Thanks for any help you can give.

Virgin use both IPStream and Datastream connections, depending on your exchange i think. They may be able to tell you before you sign up what you will be on.
Who do you see as being a 'better' provider?0
