How many of you are getting rid of Egg?

Here's a thought. If we all migrated to ONE credit card would they give us extremely competive rates ?

HI ya,
My egg card has just finished the 0% so im gonna BT (£1481) to my new m&s more card. These have offered me a more competitive rate. I might keep it till next yr coz I get 0% for 5 months for their anniversary offer - but it 2.5% uncapped for bt (unsure)
Cheers :-)0 -
Don't forget that this is the only card that you can use for 'muling' so it may be worth hanging on just for this purpose.
I have almost cleared my credit card debts now by tarting for the last couple of years, and I am using the card to get money into my Hi-Save account via my current account by taking out extra interest free cards and buying premium bonds. When I can't 'tart' I will then cash in the bonds and pay off the remaining balances.0 -
Before you all ditch egg its worth giving them a call to see what they wil offer you. They gave me 5.9% LOB with no fee.0

I'm another one who's just running out of 0% with them and taking the balance onto 5.9% LOB (only because I didn't have a big enough limit on M&S 3.9% LOB to transfer the whole lot).
So it's staying for the time being.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
As with all cards, weigh up the pros and cons. If the deal offered gives you a lower LOB transfer compared to your other credit card deals, taking any transfer fees into account, then go for it. I was told that in the case of cancelling an Egg Credit Card, as opposed to Egg Money, it would take 1 year before I would be allowed to reapply. As I have Egg Money I believe this would be easily undertaken online at the time. Deals are changing all the time. You can't take advantage of new ones offered to new applicants if you already hold the card.0

I've just got the M&S 3.9% and an MBNA 0% for 12 months and my Egg balance will be going onto them after the rise from 15.9 to 16.9.
I did ring EGG and thier best offer was a loan at 8.9.
I'll be closing mine (had it over 6 years) as soon as BTs are through.0 -
Had a run of really bad service with them, fed up and moving on.0

got rid when I realized I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the anniversary BT offer without stumping up for a BT fee! No it's not. Egg Money is more suitable since it'll earn interest on any positive balance. If Egg decide to have 'a promotion' when you BT from Egg Card, even if it's a positive balance you'll end up paying a fee.Millennium wrote:Don't forget that this is the only card that you can use for 'muling'Conjugating the verb 'to be":
