O2 Nokia 6700 problems

Unfortunately I got a 6700 on a new contract a few months ago as it's the only offer retentions would give for a price that I was willing to pay. Ever since then I've had nothing but problems with it. It crashes and shuts down during almost every phonecall, regularly when sending texts and sometimes even when it is just charging and it's not even being touched!
First O2 sent a replacement SIM which didn't help.
Then it was sent away for repair. It came back saying they had fixed it. The second call that was made on it it crashed and cut out again and now it does it every single call.
It's going back for repair again and O2 have credited one months line rental to the account for the inconvenience but the whole thing is really starting to p!ss me off!
The phone is obviously faulty and there are numerous other users reporting the same thing if you do a quick internet search.
When the phone is returned this time (inevitably with the claim that it has been fixed) and then almost certainly continues to crash, where do we stand with regards to demainding a replacement?
The phone is on contract so surely they are obliged to at least provide a working phone? What are the chances of being able to get new phone (obviously of similar value) instead of sending it for another pointless 'repair' or even getting out of the contract? It's obviously out of the 30day replacement period now but the phone's hardly been used because it's faulty and keeps on needing repair.
Edited to add: the fault is nothing to do with anything I have done to the phone and O2 haven't claimed this either when it was sent for repair. It's just a dodgy phone!

Hi Steve
Sorry to hear you're having problems with your phone. Our policy is that we'll usually replace your mobile if it suffers the same fault within 30 days of being repaired. If that's what's happened in your case, I would expect to receive a replacement from the repairs team the next time you send it away. Hopefully, this will mark an end to the problems you've seen. I've subscribed to this thread, so let us know how you get on if you have chance.
Regards

Thanks for the reply. The phone has been sent away again today and the O2 rep assured us that it will be treated as a high priority so I'll post back on here when we get the phone back again.0

We've got the phone back now. Well actually we got a replacement back as they couldn't fix it! So hopefully this phone won't have the same problems!0
