tax credit computers down?

  • Payments are not affected.

The systems are not down because they are broke, it's because they are being updated. This needs to happen sometime so although you may not be happy about it you will just need to get over it.

The problems yesterday were due to a major server problem between 11:30am & 4:00pm.

i've not had my payments today and rang them to check what's happened. They said to call Tuesday as computers are down but shouldn't affect payments.

i got no notice, no letters or anything else.

There was a major server problem yesterday which affected a lot of the HMRC systems. That has been fixed.
However the Tax credit system will be down for a planned upgrade as subsoniccoyote has said.

Tomorrow the PAYE system will be down from 12.00 also for an upgrade so no one will be able to answer queries after that time.

Things should be back to normal at the beginning of next week.

what if we have direct debits returned due to the HMRC's mistake? I've had one returned today (i didn't check as tax credits should have been in) and another due to go out on Monday (which i'll cover).

self employment services computers were down yesterday afternoon as well, it will not affect Direct Debits/Payments even at tax office.
