Why when I come to this site do I get a message that this website wants to run the following add-on: "Quick Time " from Apple Inc"?

Do I trust this website?

Why is there an apple add-on required anyway?

Windows 7 and IE8

My grandson has been on the computer and he told me he cleaned some stuff up.

It does seem to be a bit faster.

No Apple add-on is required. I think the answer may lie in "My grandson has been on the computer"!

No, he knows what he is doing, he works in IT and software engineering.

So why am I getting the message.

He deleted/removed add-ons and told me to add them back as needed.

I just wondered why I need a Quick Time add-on for these forums.

So how do I stop the annoying message and bleep?

I know I can turn the volume down but why should I.

    I know that.

I know that as well, why should I turn of my sound just for this site?

To get back to the original question.

Why when I come to this site do I get a message that this website wants to run the following add-on: "Quick Time " from Apple Inc"?

    Better?

I would still like an answer.
  • Turning up the sounds won't work, since you seem to shout so much. Etiquette is not your strong point is it.

Just go install quicktime, its a pretty standard plug-in you're likely to find you need at some point.

Now please edit your above post font size so it doesn't hurt people's eyes...... there was no need to resort to throwing toys out of the pram :naughty:
  • I have a cure for your problem, it is the MMIU of your PC. To reset this, you need to stand up and boot the PC. If you pick it up, and drop this on your foot, kicking it as far as you can go. This will cause part of the MMIU to break or fail, thus rendering the MMIU unservic able and unable to get near the PC for a fixed, normally no longer than 6-8 weeks, period of time.

Unfortunatlety, the MMIU is capable of regeneration and can come back at anytime.
