Looking like going Bankrupt to start again. Looking for advice....

I'm looking to go bankrupt and basically start my life again. I have spoke to a website/company called www.debtrelieforder.co.uk. They gave good advice, and then said they can deal with absolutely everything for £300. Including dealing with all the creditors calls and letters. Is this worth it? Or is it simple to do or get done for free then only have to pay the court costs?

Don't pay them!
Are you thinking of a debt relief order rather than bankruptcy? The fee for a DRO is £90 and your time filling in forms. Why pay £300 for the same thing? You can get advice for free from here and the free debt charities.0 -
No not a DRO, full bankruptcy as I have too much debt and a job which means I don't qualify for the DRO apparently. Is that right?0

you don't need to pay anyone for advice, please contact one of the free debt charities for advice, such as the national debtline, cccs or the cab0

The £300 isn't for advice/ It's for them to do all the paper work, take over all the creditors calls and letters, sort the court date out etc0

DRO are for debts under £15,000. As Confused says, contact one of the free debt charities to discuss your options. Bu there's no need to pay anything other than the court and OR fee.

problem is...they wont and from past experience they fill the paperwork in wrong meaning the court will refuse meaning you loose your fees and the cash they take as well...win win for them
the paperwork is straightforward and you can sort court appt yourself for freeWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Is my best bet to just find every single debt I have and then go to CAB? I have an issue with what they are going to say about my work. One month I could do 40 hours a week then for the next 3 months I could do 4 hours a week. There's no guaranteed hours. Will they just see me as 'having a job' and not care that some months I only get 4 hours a week because some others I get 40?0

the job wont be an issue...and yep cab/national debtline or cccs will do it all for freeWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Make an apppointment with CAB, and take all the paperwork you can find.
The only issue with your job is that your income will vary greatly making the income and outgoings section a bit more difficult, but nothing that can't be resolved. When doing the paperwork, put an average salary based on say the last 3 months (and then add a note in the comments to explain).0 -
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! dont pay them to fill in the forms, they can only get the info from you anyway all you are paying is for them to type it in a form.
To give you an example
Section 1 of the form asks this
What is your full name - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
Where do you live - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
What is your national insurance number - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
What are your contact numbers - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
What is your marital status - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
Section 2
Do you run a business - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
What was the trading address - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
what dates did you trade from and to - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
Who was your accountant and solicitor - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
section 3
What assets do you have - do you know the answer to this - do they before you tell them
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc
