I bought my audi tt 2009, but only now (Sept/Oct) I'm finding problems in the daytime with the dashboard lights, with them either dimming or going out completely. The garage told me this is quite normal, due to light conditions. I.e they will dim or go off if it gets darker to let me know to switch the lights on. Does this sound correct? Or could this be a potential future Audi TT dashboard failure? Thanks for any replies.

My Audi has an auto setting on the switch i.e. the lights will come on when it gets dark.

Sounds to me like you are getting fobbed off. Ask garage to show you where this "feature" is described in the handbook.

I would write and complain to Audi customer care.

I have an AUDI A3 and it describes this 'feature' in the car handbook - If your car doesn't have automatic headlights, the car is telling you to switch your headlights on because it's getting dark.

It amazes me how many people need the car to tell you to put the lights on or put the wipers on lol

I have never noticed this on my A3 and did not see it in my handbook. Maybe it is an "improvement":rotfl: for newer models?

Some cars don't even tell you, they just do it!
