No..they are too small and fiddly. For the same price or close, you could get a better, full sized lappy.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Unless you really need a Netbook, I don't think that you should spend much more than £150 on one. A laptop is much more versatile and easily available within your budget. There is a fair amount of choice available between £250 & £300.

We've just had a look around PC World and the wife hates all the laptops, they're FAR too big and heavy for her, so it's going to have to be a Netbook.
Now to find the right one.

In that case... consider a return
  • I wanted a Netbook .... and they are 'cute' and portable. But the price put me off compared to a £300 laptop.

Battery life on the laptop is rubbish though, I have to charge up about twice a day.

You can always use an external keyboard, mouse, optical drive, and usually a full size monitor as well though, if you want to use it as a desktop replacement.

However if you are skint then most local computer shops seem to have ex-corporate Dells for £60-100 which would be more than adequate.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

I've not booted my desktop since May. I use my netbook for everything.

I sold my laptop and used the cash to buy a netbook. All I wanted it for was surfing and the odd word doc and it's perfect. Went for the samsung NC10, had it over a year now and not regretted getting rid of the laptop once.

I love my Acer Aspire One in pink :D I use it every day and it loads up so quickly. The 'big' pc takes an age to load up.

  • OP should bear in mind that you will not have a DVD / CD drive with a netbook and normally you get very little software installed. If it were me and I was replacing a desktop and portability was not a key issue then I would go for a laptop to ensure full size screen, full size keyboard and DVD drive (and probably more software installed as part of the purchase price). The laptop is likely to have a better processor and larger hard drive as well.

I have a laptop and netbook and the netbook is great when I am travelling but the laptop is better to actually use.
