Fair point, the OP mentioned BG in the thread and I misread it-they did not specify who their boiler cover is with.
However, many posts on this board relate to BG recommending powerflushes for almost every conceivable boiler problem-glad to hear that you are the exception.

I was just wondering if you got a quote for a power flush? My plumber told me my heatinf system need one but he doesnt do them.
