Hi, i have just spoken to orange by phone and they said that the free broadband offer is only available to new or exsisting orange customers who have purchased mobile direct from orange, has anybody managed to get an orange contract via, CPW etc with a cashback deal and still got the free broadband? Advisor said a few had slipped through but now all advisors are aware they are not allowed to give free broadband to anyone who has a contarct phone purchased through a retailer other than orange

Bumping this one up as we are now looking at a new phone contract with Orange for this reason but were hoping for a deal through another retailer - can anyone confirm??0

Yes been talked about several times on the MSE forums. I combined the Orange BBand offer with a a money back offer that was available from BuyMobilePhones.net in Sept 06 (link was on this site .The phone was a PEBL for Mrs Sobraon with 14 month cash back on an 18month contract.
A lot of people were worried that the free broadband was only available if you got your phone directly from Orange - and their customer service said the same thing. However the offer from BuyMobilePhones.net explicitly stated the supply of free BB.
The BB and supplied wireless router works great for me. I use NetMeter to track usage and normal Web/Email and audio mp3 download shows that I have used an average of 1.6 GB per month so the 2GB limit is not a problem. So mobile, and Orange Canary plus BBand for 18 months at £6.60/month.:T

Last weekend dh took out a Orange mobile phone contract £30 a month and he came home and said I could get free broadband, I'm with Orange anyway, £17.99 a month, I rang them up and spoke to a girl who was not very helpful, she checked my phone no and asked a few questions and said yes we will change you over and onto the faster BB, but I'm not sure this will happen as I'm still only on the 1meg, had no e mail from them. I will leave it a bit longer and then phone up again.0

I know it had been discussed before, but I was just worried it might have been stopped after reading the OP's message. It wasn't worth me changing as I was too far into a 12 month deal to make it really worthwhile, but the OH is due to change contracts next month, so we were looking at an 18 month Orange contract with E2Save, but I didn't want to commit and then find out Orange wouldn't let us have the free broadband!
Another thing - we have had an awful job finding a broadband network that says they can serve our house - I don't want to sign an 18 month mobile deal if we can't ultimately get Orange... but I have picked up a disc for Orange broadband that says we can try it for a month and if we don't like it we can have our money back.
I assume that I can sign up for the Orange broadband "trial", then if its a no-go we know not to bother with the mobile contract, or, if we try it and its all a ok, then we can get the mobile contract and notify Orange and they will then change us to the free broadband? I just don't want to jump in with an 18 month mobile contract only to then be told they can't do broadband for us and thought this might be a way round it?
Does anyone know whether this will work?0 -

I to am thinking of taking up this deal, with CPW. I have phoned CS at Orange on two seperate occassions today, they both confirmed that no matter who supplies the phone ie: CPW, E2Save, OSPS etc as long as it's on an Orange contract, you qualify.
Rebekka, be interesting to see how you get on.0 -
