Well when i ordered they said that they had just started the site and were after feedback from me i was happy with the service and product anyway you can tell if a site has secure payment methods? As this site directed me to barclaycard then back to there site which made me feel comfortable that it was secure

All on line retailers should have secure on line checkouts. It just depends which merchant service they use, as to which secure site you go through. Just make sure the padlock is displayed at the bottom of your screen, which means that it is a secure site. Most of them are fairly secure, but from the research I did I found that Sagepay (used to be Protx) are supposed to be the most secure. And I have to say that their security is excellent.
  • I just wanted to revisit this thread, because I know how much of a struggle it is finding a decent budget mattress.

The mattress i went for was the Luxurious Regal Orthopedic from Home Furnishings UK on eBay. I contacted several previous buyers of the mattress from their feedback list, and their comments were very positive on both the mattress, price, and conpany, although the courier they use was a bit lacking in terms of their own service (they wont help get the mattress upstairs or anything.)

    Here are the mattress specs:

4ft6 LUXORIOUS REGAL DOUBLE 4ft 6" ORTHOPAEDIC MATTRESS
***SALE NEXT DAY DELIVERY SERVICE BARGAIN 10 inch Deep

    - 12 1/2 gauge springs
    - coil sprung
    - 10" deep
    - Hand tufted
    - Damask cover
    - Made in Yorkshire
    - Free next day delivery
    - Price between £99 - £129 depending on if they're offering a sale (I got mine for £123.)

So I went for this mattress and have been very pleased with it thus far. The thickness is HUGE, probably twice the size of my old one, and quite comfy. Of course, long term life is more important to me, but the quality seems very good and hopefully it'll last. The comments I got from previous buyers were buyers from as much as two years ago, and so it seems like the quality lasts.

Anyway, hope that helps someone save the many hours I spent searching for mattresses online. Of course, a lot of my knowledge DID come from reading lots of tim's old posts, so definitely a big thank you to him.

Out of interest, what is the make of the mattress, as for some strange reason they won't say on ebay?

Just looked at this on their page - seems very cheap for a pocketsprung divan plus drawers.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Super-4ft-6-Double-1000-Pocket-Sprung-Bed-Mattress-/360304200067?pt=Beds_Mattresses&var=&hash=item92af42d239

It's not cheap if it is a very low quality bed, which it probably is for that price.
