I dont see why he cant just say i would recommend if you want a double mattress, you want it firm, you have a bad back, to go for brands x, y or z.

Its up to them if they use that advice, and tbh even if he did say that, and even if he sold that brand, i would still go and research the brand, look for reviews & see if it was possible to get it cheaper.

Its advice, its not saying you must buy this from me.

Don't blame me, blame the forum rules that I have to abide by.

If I could do that, then each time I recommended anything the moderators would have to do loads of searching to find out if I sold that model.

I'm not blaming you, i just think its daft you can't just say whats best for the person asking. Regardless if you sell the item or not.

Well there isn't much I can do about that I'm afraid. This is where you need to actually speak to a few retailers, and hope that they will tell the truth, rather than just try and sell you the mattress that earns them the most commission.
  • Out of interest, can you say out of your stock, do you have any sub £350 mattresses that are pocket sprung without any latex/foam that are firm?

Im not looking for advice, its just a question?

Not out of stock, as all ours are made to order. But most on line retailers should have pocket sprung mattresses within that price.

    Can you recommend any?

If you don't sell them, that shouldnt be a problem? Or do you offer ones special order that would suit me?

I do sell them, so I can't recommend any.
  • Oh right, sorry i misunderstood.

So can you list the ones you sell (not in stock) that would meet my requirements?

I don't view this as recommending, just stating what is on offer in my price range.

I would like to compare these with others i have found.

Well that would be advertising, which I'm not allowed to do on MSE.
  • So if i emailed you with the same question, could you answer it then?
