Advice between Myers, Healthopaedic, or Bedmaster mattresses

I've narrowed down a two-day search of mattresses to 3 finalists, but cannot choose between them, so I was wondering if there were any members with any experience with them and could help me make my decision.
My budget is £200, and so I've been looking for a deep and firm open coil mattress in a double. My finalists are:
1) Myers Ultrapeadic Firm. £199
- 25cm (10 inches) deep.
- Deep, hand tufted.
- Apparently hourglass springs, not sure if that does anything though.
http://www.mattressman.co.uk/myers/mattresses/mattresses/double/P8347S0L/ultrapeadic_firm.aspx
I've heard incredible things about myers, and they're a well respected brand in general, and I'm encouraged by the 10" depth. Also great reviews on the website, though I know you can't always trust them.
2) Healthopaedic Billionaire Ortho. £199
- 24cm deep (9.5 inches).
- Hand tufted.
- 12.5 gauge springs
http://www.mattressman.co.uk/healthopaedic/mattresses/mattresses/double/P16180S0L/billionaire_ortho.aspx
Not much to say about this one, it's similar to the Myers, although the original RRP for this mattress was far higher at £480 (compared to Myers £350) so it makes me think this might be higher quality, but really have no idea.
3) Bedmaster Queen Ortho Comfort Mattress. £129
- 9 inches deep
- 5 year guarantee plus 5 year warranty.

Hard to tell anything else from the site about this one. I'll need to contact them for more info if it turns out to be a worthy contender, but while the price is so low it worries me, it's also that low price that's making me consider it. Plus that 5 year guarantee plus 5 year warranty is nice. Oh, and this website gives me a free pillow too! Lol. Not that it would sway me, of course.
I just want to add: I've searched this forum thoroughly looking for advice, and have taken aboard a lot from Tim and others. But i'm not really looking for any, "none of those are good" feedback unless you can recommend something else specifically, because I don't really have the time to keep looking longer than I have, and this is all I could find in my price range. Giving any advice on how to choose between these three would be greatly appreciated though.

Out of the three I would go for the Healthopaedic. Myers used to be very good, but I have heard about so many reliability problems with them recently. The Bedmaster is a middle of the open coil sprung mattress, and you need to read the warranty details carefully.
You should be able to get all of them cheaper, as these prices aren't cheap for on line prices.
Healthopaedic are made by Highgate Beds, and i know there are sellers who sell highgate that give a satisfaction guarantee.0 -
For 200 quid u can get a hell of alot better than open coil. If its just a mattress ur after.0

Thanks for the replies. Im surprised you guys really think those are high prices, though. I've scoured eBay, Google, and various comparison sites and i'm sure they can't be found cheaper. Maybe you're forgetting these are doubles and not singles?
Skeeter, I'm really looking for a half decent open coil than a cheap pocket sprung. I don't think it's possible to get pocket sprung under 200, is it?0 -
I just came across this site: http://boss-beds.co.uk
They seem to sell their own brand stuff at cheap prices and looks like it could be good quality. I've never heard them mentioned on the forums before but they give 2 weeks to test the mattress then allow you to return it if unsatisfied.
Tim, could you say what you think about these and if the prices are more aligned with what you were talking about?

I'm not sure if all those would be suitable for my slatted bed. I guess I can ask them if nobody knows. But these seem much cheaper.0 -
Sure it is. Without a divan and just mattress a pocket sprung 1000 is reachable if u look about long enough.
Cage sprung btw should be suitable for any slatted base, its just pocket sprung that has issues i think, tho tim would be best to ask but i think thats correct.0 -

Yes I was refering to doubles. You can get top of the range open coil sprung mattresses for around the £150 mark. Just stay away from big brands.EssentialParadox wrote: »Skeeter, I'm really looking for a half decent open coil than a cheap pocket sprung. You can get pocket sprung mattresses for under £200, but not half decent ones, as you rightly say.0 -

You more on the right track. However It doesn't say who makes these mattresses, so it's difficult to tell. Also they don't display their delivery charges until you set up an account and go to the checkout.
The seller doesn't allow you to unpack the mattress and then decide to return it, and doesn't give their company details on the web site (which is a legal requirement), so beware. However there are many reputable on line companies who sell good quality mattresses for similar prices to these (and some cheaper), and also have good returns policies.
Any open coil sprung mattress would be suitable for a slatted bed.0 -
Okay, thanks again Tim. I'll keep that in mind. I'll contact them and ask these things.0
