Debt free in ten years-my new, more realistic challenge.

bonnington, I actually slept last night and feel full of beans to get started on the challenge of money saving this week. A bit less mask leakage
I have done a freezer and store cupboard inventory and made a meal plan for two weeks. the plan is to be a bit more inventive so I am going to make a pate for the mens' lunches using the lamb's liver and some onions. It will make quite a lot so I can freeze it in pate dishes.
Just started going through the credit card statements and have found DH went over his limit when buying fuel and has a £12 charge. I will phone them and try to get it removed as it is a first 'offence'.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I think I have got used to the mask now. I went to the hospital yesterday and they have given me a machine with a fixed pressure. I used it for 9.7 hours the other night.
You've soon think nothing of it.

Thanks Bonnington, the nights are getting easier but I still have a long way to go to get to 7 hours!
I told Mr P that there was nothing available to spend in any of our accounts. Nothing even on credit cards as all maxed out. He was brilliant, got onto it straight away and is working on some repointing for a client. He started yesterday and has almost finished but has other work in the pipeline too. DS3 has put him on Yell.com and in the yellow pages. He doesn't know yet and we are worried he will find out as he said he didn't want to advertise. he gets all his work via word of mouth and has done well these last 10 years. Times have changed though.
Today is to be an NSD. I didn't go to weight management so saved 50p. Not a lot I know but they do add up.
I cancelled Sky sports and movies today and did they offer me a chance to stay for half price? No. The woman I spoke to said that loads of people are doing it because it has been 'on some website'.
Packed lunches for DS1 have been becoming a bit too pricy so I bought a cheap bacon joint and yesterday I boiled it them cooked it in the oven covered in honey. I sliced it using the machine I have and used it with potato wedges last night, DS1 can have it in his sandwiches today and tomorrow and I will freeze some for next week. I am going to try to get him eating eggs as we have a lot at the moment. I bought some very cheap penguin biscuits from Approved Foods for him.
Last night I discovered I have lost a diamond from my eternity ring. I am not sure whether it is worth claiming on the insurance or not. So today I need to find out repair costs and what the insurance claim will cost in increased premiums.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Well i am pretty new to this site and just wanted to say hello. I have been reading through as much of this site, on lots of topics as much as possible.
After been in a lot of debt for many years without my hubby knowing, i felt like my world fell apart when i had to tell my hubby the amount of debit i was in 30,000i still don't know how i got into this mess, but i did. And still feel very very ashamed about it. After a lot of tears and upsetment my hubby got me a loan for £15,000 i pay him 500 a month back, i also pay the rest of the 15,000 in a loan that i had and a couple of credit cards, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and at night i can actually sleep instead of worring myself stupid, all thanks to my fab hubby, but i know this much, i have made a promise to myself for the future, in 2 years i will be debt free, and unless i can pay by cash, i will never use a credit card again. good luck to you all, i know how hard things can be, but you will get there in the end. x
Thank you for your message. Please join us on here where we can all support each other. It sounds as though you have had a difficult few years but you too can see light at the end of the tunnel. I couldn't have managed without my husband and the rest of my family. Ours is joint debt but he has never been aware of how much it actually amounts to. I wish I could get to the situation of not using a credit card. Mine has been used for food again this month. well done on getting rid of them.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Back again already
I have just done the minimum payment calculation and if I continue making the minimum payment on my Barclaycard it will take about 20 years to pay off. So I have changed to a set amount each month and it will be paid off in 4 years. Provided I can stop using it to buy food.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Baby grand daughter was born yesterday morning.:D
Both now doing well but it was a bit scary for a while. She is 50 miles away so a bit of cash going on petrol that I will be having to find somewhere else. It is certainy worth it. I had a small amount saved for such an event so will get youngest son to take me to building society tomorrow. I have it where I can't get at it too easily. About £100 so it will be very useful

Thank you beanielou and LMBL. I think Mr Pooh, all our sons and I have been going around with big grins since baby was born. She is out of SCBU and in with DD now. DSonIL is shattered and grinning too
Mr Pooh has some work todayThis means we will definitely have enough to pay the DDebits for July when added to last week's work. I started going through cc statements last week, to make sure we weren't either paying interest or fines. All minimum payments have been made plus a little extra.
This week I want to;
Phone cc companies to see what deals they will offer. Also check 0% end dates
Take things clothes back to Mr Ts
Check meal plan as weekend ended up being off plan. We had take away on our way home from Newcastle but all sons paid for their own. It does make life easier.
Sort out fridge before going out, freeze leftovers.
Do new snowball,
Ask middle son to do my accounts.
