:wave:Hi bonnington, I hope it all goes well today at your appointment. I have a review at the end of May. I haven't started treatment yet but like you can't wait to wake up feeling as though I have had a decent night's sleep.

I received my cash for clothes bag today. Not sure how I feel about it. Most of our old clothes go to the Relate charity shop. Because I can park right outside it not for other reasons :D Don't want to worry Mr Pooh. It feels a bit wrong to send clothes away for cash now, though I do have no qualms about trying to sell them on ebay.

Today I received a letter from the water company saying that they came to read our meter and we haven't used any water. How I wish that was the case. I need to phone them and negotiate an amount to pay.

Next up is the electricity company who are still looking at our electricity consumption. The problem we had was that our night time meter reading was huge. We had been very bad :o and had been using day time electricity for all the cottage laundry so expected a bigger day time and lower night time useage.

ETA Our electricity consumption is correct. I sent a list of all the appliances being used and times they were used and the costs are correct. Now to patrol the house turning things off :D

I have been a bit quiet because I was working on DHs' accounts. All finished and ready to go to the accountant. I fear he will be working next year to pay off a tax bill.

Our electricity consumption was found to be correct for the apppliances we have and the hours they are on. I even have Mr pooh putting things on at night now to save costs:D If he gets up to go to the loo he has to put another load of washing on.

I heard from Santander that they are looking into my PPI query. I made a claim with them so I probably won't get anything back but you never know.

The money from the TSB PPI is in my ISA along with the penny from last year:rotfl::rotfl:

Mr Pooh is looking at vehicles around £5000 in price and I am looking at vehicles for him for around £3000. I think we might come to a compromise but I will let you know how we get on.

I bought 200 stamps on ebay yesterday. I am hoping they are legal and not forgeries:eek:. They look okay in the photos. We send out a lot of letters, either invoices for DH's business or confirmation letters from me. The only thing I forgot because I was using paypal was to put them on a business account. It will come out of our personal account :o

We were given all thwe wood from the village hall floor. It is very rotten. I was hoping to have a nice wooden floor in my hall. It is excellent for firewood though and I am keeping warm with it right now. Nothing like free heat :D

I am going to make fish and chips for tonight. I found a batter recipe in Delia Smith's recipe book. It will make the piece of fish seem bigger and I will do home made chips in the Actifry. My friend has a sack of potatoes and a string of onions free for me :D Almost a free dinner again today. I am not sure yet whether it is for three of us of five.

Well done on completing your first year. And on paying off £10000 !
I am a aiming on paying mine off by the time I am 60. I have seven years to go now. I managed to increase my debt but it is now going down.

My mortgage has 9 years to go and I would love to get it down to 7 years.

I would give up everything to pay it off but DH wants us to have a social life and holidays. Perhaps he is right. I suppose seven years is a long time not to go out.

Today we are travelling to Scotland to look at a low mileage pickup. I have calculated that paying for petrol there and back and then possibly a train journey too is cheaper than all the vehicles we have found in England by around £1500. The company know we are going so will keep it for us today :) Lets hope it is a good one and worth the distance travelled. Now I wish I had printed up vouchers for places to eat :(

We bought a pickup yesterday. Well, paid the deposit on it. It is going to be serviced then Mr Pooh has to go back for it on the train. We worked out that the last time he was on a train was when we went to London when I was pregnant with DD. That was 1985! Luckily our sons have reassured him that trains haven't changed at all. He will have to collect the ticket from a machine. Our sons all think that is the most difficult part for him and maybe someone should go with him to help. :D

It cost £4600 so we still have spare cash to spend on insulating the house or even on a new heating boiler of some sorts. We are still looking at an air source heat pump but need to get some prices first.

We were very extravagent yesterday and had lunch in a Chinese restaurant on the way to perth and then bought a ready meal each on the way home.

beanielou, It was lovely in Scotland on Monday. So much brighter than home. I just love the area and have had lots of holidays there. Even tried to buy a business up there before finding this place.

I think the cheapest way to collect the picku is for Mr Pooh to go on the train but DS3 really wants to drive him up. He can't do it this week as he has advanced first aid course then how to deal with pirates on Friday.

We are trying to decide whether to buy a warranty for the pick up or not. So much conflicting information is making me dizzy and so many types of cover.

I have also had to bale out our current account as we almost didn't cover our mortgage payment. I put £200 in from the PPI money but am determined to put it back into the savings as soon as possible as I am now saving up for heating for the Winter.

I have the wood burner lit this morning as we are in thick fog. I am sure I don't usually light it in May.
