BF109, if you tap it from the side does it hurt a lot?
The whole tooth has calmed down a bit - or maybe thats the 7 beers I have had?
Anyway, yes it hurts slightly if I tap it with my finger from the side. I have booked in for tomorrow anyway, if its fine in the morning I might cancel.
I'm booked in for a checkup the following monday anyway. Dont want anymore of them root canals![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Rise like Lions after slumber

does anyone know what could be wrong if you have a rough part on your upper gum that feels like it is burning and aching,
i told dentist this and she said she saw nothing wrong with that part of my gum, but today the pain quite bad
its on the inside, no swelling, no toothache just a burning ache0 -
Good luck Bf
mrs angry, there are some dentists on here but I guess not at the moment. You could google the symptoms? You have your appointment soon though dont you. All the best for that.0 -

Sorry for pointless post not really thinking at all let alone straight.

I can truly empathise with you. There's nothing worse than dental pain, and when a woman who has undergone childbirth complains of pain you know it damn well hurts!!!!
I had almost a month of excrutiating dental pain recently and was exceeding maximum doses of both ibuprofen and co-codamol daily just to take the edge off it. I'm now suffering knock on illnesses (liver/kidney problems) due to the massive amounts of pain killers I was taking, but what was I supposed to do?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Oh dear chameleon, really you have liver problems now? How dreadful. I remember when I had an abscess and an extraction I got a dry socket and guys it was even worse than the abscess. Ive never cried from pain before but I sat there sobbing it was so bad and crying made it worse. I got some very strong pain killers from the dentist and I was sitting down stairs during the night trying to sleep when I suddenly felt really light headed and thought Id OD on the pain killers. Agony. I have the greatest sympathy for you crazy - PLEASE go to an emergency dentist tomorrow.0

Hi all.
I started root canal treatment last Friday. The specialist began the treatment and put a temporary filling over it, my next appointment to have the procedure finished (although when a cancellation comes up I will get a phone call) is not until the 28th November.
I was brushing my teeth this morning and part of the back of my tooth fell off. I can feel into the inside of my tooth with my tounge. I went to see the emergency dentist at my practice who ensured me this is 'normal' and because the specialist doing the root canal work has filled the tooth it should be okay and I can carry on as usual, he filed it down for me so that the jagged edge doesn't catch on my tounge. Is this right? I don't see how I can carry on as usual will a hole in my tooth for over a month until the root canal treatment can be finished. Someone put my mind to rest... Am I just worrying too much?0 -

im sure your dentist knew what he was talking about. if the nerve has been taken out, which as far as i know is usually in the first stage of rct, then the tooth is 'dead' and therefore shouldnt hurt. this is why a lot of people fail or simply dont bother booking in for the second stage.0 -
Well you dont actually have a hole in the tooth do you? Isnt it just an edge has broken off?0
