I contacted the Police about this for harrassment. This number constantly rings me on my business phone and hangs up. This is harrassment. I now have a crime number reported 3/6/2010. Yesterday they rang again and hung up again. I reported this to the Police. They then rang the numbers I gave them.
The Police found out this information for me. They use the name Graham White Solicitors. They use these telephone numbers 01932 332042 to 49. They have now been warned not to contact me again as I am not the person they are looking for.
I will report the matter again if they do not back off, in which case I will ask for a prosecution.
    Will keep you all posted.
    Caller: Graham White Solicitors

I do hope that the person who made that entry has reported this to the SRA. It would be a meaningful addition to the active case file.

Nice to see the police actually taking the matter seriously for a change.

Small Claims is your only option, like Tasneem Patel who just posted on this board herself on another thread - so she's an MSE member now:

I don't know why people pay these things, honestly, just because something looks like a parking ticket and has headed notepaper and a website and might seem 'all official like' doesn't mean that it is. Watchdog has covered the scam and is about to cover it again next week, all it takes is a Google and you can find out about this scam. Sorry but you were 'had' by scammers and it makes me angry (with the PPCs, not with you).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I just read the story in that link "Riyaz had no idea he had been ticketed until the company from which he had leased his Honda Civic wrote him a letter, asking him to reimburse them as they had paid his fine."

Talk about a stupid company, does that mean that if I send them a letter and invoice saying one of their drivers hit my car they would pay up without checking with the hirer first. I wonder if someone in the company office gets a kickback for paying these promptly.

    Quite likely.

"" I wonder if someone in the company office gets a kickback for paying these promptly.""

Possibly, but they get about £30.00 just for the letter and its taken from the card before the letter gets to you.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
