parking fine threat

been called several times from 01932332048 asking for an ' I Williams' at my address. there is no I Williams living here but they insist that they are following a non payment of a parking fine. they will not tell me where the fine was issued, what car is involved nor the date. if they have my number they obviously have my address !! but have not contacted me by letter. the only fine I have had was a PCN issued in March 2007 which I duly challenged,giving my full name and address with my email address. the reply stated that I would receive a reply within 10 days. (still waiting for the reply). what should I do ?

Oh that's OK then, evangarn you can ignore them and report them for harassment because it's not about a fine at all. It's about a private parking company 'PPC' ticket ( = a scam).

Don't pay it in a million years, instead spend a while reading other accounts of what to do when a scammer PPC gets a scammier debt collector to harass you on the telephone (harassment = a criminal offence on their part):

All the above results tell you everything you need to know, relax. Even if they had got the name right it would still be a scam and you can report them.

it was issued by the council in a NCP car park. but as I said they have all my personal details to contact me direct.

I contacted the Police about this for harrassment. This number constantly rings me on my business phone and hangs up. This is harrassment. I now have a crime number reported 3/6/2010. Yesterday they rang again and hung up again. I reported this to the Police. They then rang the numbers I gave them.
The Police found out this information for me. They use the name Graham White Solicitors. They use these telephone numbers 01932 332042 to 49. They have now been warned not to contact me again as I am not the person they are looking for.
I will report the matter again if they do not back off, in which case I will ask for a prosecution.
Will keep you all posted.

Equally good is to make up some pretty cards from "saucy Sarah" to stick in certain telephone boxes if you know what I mean.

I do hope that the person who made that entry has reported this to the SRA. It would be a meaningful addition to the active case file.

They're under investigation. They are actually Roxburghe pretending to be Graham White.
