Does she definately need the books? If the library at her uni is good, and open for a long time, she might not really need the books.
I find it better to go to the library, there is a wider range of books, and its open 24 hours during term time0 -

I'm sorry I'm not sure as I haven't received my extra card yet. As I understand it you ativate the card and a code is on the NUSextra site somewhere. have you tried abebooks online they sell second hand books and that is where i have got all my text books from for the past 3 years and am just getting my post grad books from them now. they also have out of print books to which depending on tutors can get u extra credit for reading plus if u go through quidco it is 5% cash back.0
