Hi everyone,
There is currently an intermittent problem with Forum search. Some search results are not displaying. Just to say, this particular issue should hopefully be resolved this evening and search results displaying correctly tomorrow (6th October 2010).
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.
Regards,
Ian

IanMany thanks Ian appreciate the hard work that you do in ensuring the boards run smoothly at present when I click on a thread link I am getting the html text below with the actual thread at the bottom as you can imagine it takes a lot of scrolling down before I am able to see the post is this also related to the search problem ? this also seems to happen intermittently every now and again.0 -

The search facility seems to be back functioning ok today as promised. (i.e. all todays posts get listed)
BUT...
there appears to be a 'black hole' in the search results regarding any posts made over the past 4 or 5 days. (not including today, and presumably any days going forward)
Are you aware of this? Will it correct itself? Or is it something we will have to live with?
(As days go by, the effect to most users will become diminished anyway)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

Have faith, Amilucky?
For the past few days (not including today), none of my searches were giving any recent posts. I mentioned it here yesterday:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=37226392&postcount=58
However, Ian says in his OP here that the issue was an "intermittent problem" so maybe you had more luck than me yesterday.
However, if Ian says it's now fixed from this morning, I certainly believe himHopefully no more will be missed off the search.
All I was trying to point out is the apparent 'black hole' in the results over the period the "intermittent problem" was occurring, which appears to be from about 2 Oct until last night.
e.g. a search of your (or my) recent posts currently shows nothing during that time."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Have just had a look at the Spinx search engine that MSE uses and it looks like something from "The Matrix" I just hope that the MSE techies have taken the right pill today! :rotfl:0
