I have used A Manchester address for the quote:

Using "confused.com" the cheapset quote is from Admiral - £2,400 with a £400 excess,

Next cheapest is DIAMOND at £2,100.

Kat , are you SURE your quote is correct ?

Manchester being one of the most expensive places to insure a car in the country. The OP lives in Edinburgh!

Must be to do with your occupation ? Im listing you as a sales assistant and the quotes im getting even using the Edinburgh postcode is £989 as a provisional licence holder and then £1200 as a newly passed driver...

If you can get it for £560 and only a £20 rise once you pass your test then i would buy it NOW !!!!

That is a really great quote !

Hopefully wont be too long before you pass.

Yeah, I mean I'm a Full time student and sales assistant part time. I'm going to get the insurance tomorrow, and buy the actual car next month, so I can purchase the insurance in one go, rather than monthly

You can't insure a car you don't yet own!

Ah, right - I read it that you were planning on getting it to start tomorrow. So you know exactly what car you're buying and it's reg no?

As its your sister , would she not let you take the car tomorrow once you have the insurance sorted and then PAY for it next month ?

Means you will be able to use it for an extra month to get practice in!
