Lived there for long enough. Ghastly place. Never seen so much drunkenness and mindless violence.

I agree but its no better or worse than all major cities including London.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Try Sapporo Teppanyaki on Castlefield for a very entertaining, interactive dining experience!

  • Agree with San Carlo its a great place and great atmoshphere. Also try restaurant Bar and Grill you get a variety of great food and under neath at Panacea you can get kalied with cocktails :-)posh fish and chips are a must! or Piccolino's for great Italian (lots of footballers eat there) or Chaophraya for Chinese/Thai. Grill on the alley does great steaks and v.nice steak and kidney puds! Rajoots for indian. Sams chop house below Chaophraya do great home cooked food traditional english. The restaurant in Urbis has fab views (cant think what it is called) and if that cant stretch your budget then there is cafe rouge on deansgate which is alway a safe bet.

BTW Whitehorse your a muppet. Just been down to London walked out on the street saw a woman get mugged and badly injured so walked the two minutes back to the hotel room. We go out to Manchester about five or six times a year and have no problem what so ever. In fact I drove into Manchester last night at midnight to pick my OH up and parked on a main road with no hassle at all.

At least we have some character and our own personality and are way so friendlier.

Best advice for Manchester? Don't go there. Failing that, get off the street by 7pm. It's a very noisy, drunken and violent city.

Places to eat? Depends what you want. There's suprisingly little.

    That is absolute cobblers.

    Hi All

I'm taking my wife away for a romantic weekend watching Man United on 16 October! We're staying at City Inn thanks to tesco clubcard points, and would be most grateful for any tips or recommendations on eating/drinking/other entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening.

    Thanks

    Enjoy the game? ;)

em, the rest of the weekend was great! First half was good too, second half manu were pretty awful.

Went to La Tasca Friday night, ended up in some place on Canal St, such a laugh. Took it a bit easier Saturday night. City Inn was lovely.

And I didn't see any fights!

    Thanks for all the help.
