Sold an item but made a mistake with the listing

I sold a Sonic The Hedgehog PS3 game but it's only when i go to post it just now that i realise i listed the wrong game. The game is called Sonic Unleashed but the details i have in the listing is just for the ordinary Sonic The Hedgehog game. It's my own fault and i should have noticed it before i made the listing live. Should i email the buyer and let them know or just do a refund via Paypal and let them know in a message via Paypal. I know i will probably lose listing fees but it is my own fault.

If I were you, I'd just email, very apologetically, and explain the situation to the buyer. You never know, they might still want it. If it is a better/later edition of the game, they might actually have got something better for their money. You could always offer a small/partial refund to compensate for the confusion. If they don't want it, all you can do is issue a grovelling apology and a full refund. As long as you are sincere and let the seller know the situation ASAP, then I am sure it will be fine. If I was the buyer, I might be a bit disappointed, but if you deal with it efficiently and quickly, you can protect your feedback. Mistakes happen - don't worry!:D0

I couldn't send them this game instead. They would raise a dispute in Paypal and get their money back and affect my 100% feedback. I have emailed them to let them know the situation. I will relist the game with the correct details, i haven't issued a refund yet because i will wait to see what they say and maybe they could rebuy the game through the proper listing.0

Unleashed was released a year later, but wasn't as good as the original apparently, so would sell for less... (they might still want it though if you offered them a partial refund).Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

You say you 'couldn't' send them the game anyway, in which case refund immediately. The quicker you sort this out the less likely you are to get negative feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Did you have a photo of the item on your listing?0

Personally to try and avoid the neg. As the item is reasonably low value (£10ish) I would send them the item and refund them. It all comes down to how much your 100% feedeback is worth.0 -
On completed listings, there's not much in the price the one you have goes for a pound or so less by the looks of it. Maybe offer a couple of quid off if they still want it.0

Yeah i put the wrong picture up. I actually have a few sonic games and i just got a bit confused between them. I will be listing the others too. It was a Buy It Now and not an auction so they obviously wanted it for the price i had it for (less than a fiver). They haven't replied back yet. I'm not actually sure how i go about giving a refund and if i need to do something on Ebay or do i just issue a refund via Paypal. I've never had to do this before.0
