Thanks for your reply Just tried East Cost and its quoting 9.10am £85.15 & 13.00 £42.55 = £127.70. How did you get these fares?
Firstly, I put "via Newcastle" under more options, under the From and To boxes.

Then make sure the boxes under passengers subheading say...
    Two adults
    Tick the railcard box
Choose Disabled and 1 from the dropdown lists
Put two adults in the following box too.

That way, it still shows the figures I mentioned earlier.
  • does anyone have the password codes/spare tokens to book fares on the promotion in the Scotsman newspaper that started on Saturday?

    1. my
    2. rail
    3. fare
To register https://www.scotsman.com/myrailfare or book direct https://www.eastcoast.co.uk/thescotsman

However, you still need one of the vouchers printed in the paper to validate the offer when travelling.

Can someone just confirm something for me, I'm looking at a new job that involves rail travel each day.

I looked at season tickets between a and b and its circa 2k... but er, am I right in thinking you actually need a season ticket for both ways?! ie £4k?!:eek:

No, a season ticket gives unlimited travel between A and B and B to A for the validity of the ticket ie week, month or year.

ah right, it's just on the nationalrail season ticket calculator it did A-B and then price and then underneath it did B-A and then price!! I assume it was just showing there's a price difference if you go the other way?

With season tickets there is no price difference if you go the other way. With normal tickets there is sometimes.

Unless yours is a very unusual journey

Actually, I've realised I was just being stupid. It's giving me two options, one involving not travelling through somewhere and one is. Hence the price difference.... It was a long day :o
