  • I'm with Vodafone too. Have been with them for about 10 years now and to be honest the only reason I'm still with them, is that at the end of each contract I complain about certain things, monthly bills, rubbish hand sets they've sent me in the past etc. Last time (about 6 months ago), I said that's it, I'm off and said that O2 where doing this great deal, can't remember exactly what it was now but she matched it with extra bits just to make me stay. I think they are desperate for people to stay with them so you could end up with a good deal on a new phone package.

    Also my friend moved to Austria and phoned voda to ask if could cancel his contract. They tried offering him all these deals they had but he just didn't need the phone or number any more. After repeatedly saying "Look you don't understand, I'm moving to Austria for good and don't need the bloody thing!". In the end she let him keep the contract for free, with the free calls and txts each month, so now he's got a phone which he pays nothing for and gets free calls and txts.

    All I'm saying is that if you want to, you could milk your situation and come out with a pretty good deal. :)

    I've never really had big signal issues, either on Orange or Voda, but there's no way I can bear to stick with them after the frustrations I've had. At the moment we don't know which country we're going to live in, so I might have to hold off a month or two, but the sooner I can cancel and move on, the better. The billing I find maddening as it comes through about two months late.

    Thanks again. I live in hope of finding the Mr Right of the Mobile world... One day my iPrince will come etc.
