In Birmingham there is no wait for allotments, actually I estimate about a third of all plots are not rented.
The council has increased the price from 25 to 75 pounds over two years so I expect there will be even more available next year.0 -

Still on the waiting list for an allotment, well I hope I am! Applied over the phone in 2011. Its a shame because we could do with this now it would help get my 13 yr old son off the computer!!“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0

Agree with Queen of cheap, give them a ring. I applied by email to my local self managed allotment but I didn't check the wait list expecting to be at the end of the list for a while. A year later I thought I would check my position only to find my name was not on the list at all. Fortunately, as I had applied in writing it was easy to prove that I had applied and they inserted me into the list based on the date I had emailed. Good luck with getting one soon, mine makes me so happy :j0
