If you can't stay where you are living currently then technically you are imminently homeless and thus the council may have a duty of care to house you as you say this may be in hostels or temporary accomodation but you may be eligible for other types of housing. It may well be worth a visit to see if they can assist in any way?0

I can't offer advice, however, just wanted to say what a brave person I think you are. You've been thrown a lot of obstacles so far in your (shortish) life and yet you come across fairly upbeat and positive - not grabbing give me what I think I deserve, but quite genuinely someone young who is in need of support.
I do hope you find a place and are able to get settled and also find work that suits you.
All the best.
Keep smiling, with your positive attitude, you will be fine - you'll look back one day and all of this will be behind you.0 -

I have spoken to them today, I have rung up every organisation minus shelter as they were engaged every time.
They just say they can only give me a hostel, And my doctor says hes is 100% against me going into a hostel, but needs must right.0 -

Thank you, I wish I felt brave, to be honest I feel like a !!!!! whos getting bullied around, but self victimisation will do that to you right?
its kind of hard to see any positives with all this going on.
hopefully something will arise
end of this month I am going to be moving into my friends place whilst I look for suitable property on DSS then I can get jobhunting also.
I just wish a company would see past my tourettes ( i dont scream and shout its mainly physical )
Just want a chance really.
to be brutally honest though I highly doubt things are gonna get a whole lot better, the reason I didnt post back for 5 hours today is because I went to A+E because im getting a lot of suicidal thoughts and iv tried to carry some out.
I hope things will get better I really do, Im trying best I can, just obviously not good enough.
but heres to hoping0 -
I put up adverts on a few websites such as SPAREROOM and EASYROOMMATE, Anyway I have had a message from somebody advertising a room in a great part of manchester for £350 all bills included, council tax, gas, water, electric, sky tv and broadband and a cleaner once a week.
Its about £60 per month over what I will get on DSS but considering I currently pay £35 per month for internet ( damn bt prices ) and I will no longer have to pay that as the net is free it works out only £25 more per month really which isnt really a problem seems as all bills are included.
Anyway I have emailed him asking if he accepts DSS and told him it wont be for long as Im looking for work I just had to leave my old job which was a lot of heavy lifting due to health/operations issues.
Lets hope he accepts dss.
There doesnt seem to be a whole lot accepting dss on these sites.
still any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks
* I would also like to just say thank you to some of the people here who said really nice things which have sure helped me keep my head up the last few days, Iv had problems with certain members causing trouble over nothing in the past but the majority of you are awesome *0 -
That sounds really positive, and you have explained your situation upfront which is a good idea. Only thing to be careful of, there are some scams about with rental advertisement, but I'm sure you'll spot any telltale signs (not meeting the landlord or tenants, payment by Western Union etc). Keep us updated!Gone ... or have I?0

Yeah, I have rung a few agencys today also with one saying they have a few rooms available on DSS so I asked when I come back from holiday on the 24th can I arrange a viewing. so hopefully something will come of them
I have £3,000 in the bank to use for furniture if needs be as well ( my old employer had to let me go due to my ill health but didnt want me taking them to court over the health and safety laws they break so they paid me ) So at least I also have some £ for the first few months depending on how long it takes for the DSS to come through, if it takes a while hopefully I will be backdated.0 -
I don't want to rain on your parade but the ads that sound too good to be true, often are and the cleaner rings alarms bells with me.
Do not part with any money without seeing any flats and beware of anyone who doesn't live in the vacinity to view the room/flat with you.0 -

Fair enough, Il make sure I check it out properly.
I also spoke to an agency today who say they have a few propertys available on DSS so I shall be doing viewings end of the month when Im back from holiday.
Do you know of any sites other than the obvious like gumtree, primelocation etc and the ones i mentioned that may be of use to me ?0 -
