    yes he may well be stalling for time, i might be being too soft in allowing him the time to sort it out, do you think if i tell him he has a week then i will do a chargeback would be a bad idea cos it may well get him on to sorting out but it may well mean that he makes sure there is no funds available

    Obviously it is completely up to you, but if he gets you to th e45 day mark then there will be nothing at all you can do as paypal will not consider a chargeback once the time limit has expired.

    Even if he accepts it back now and you decide to trust him, what's to say he won't ask you to wait for his own claim against the original seller to be settles before he refunds you? Thus getting you past the 45 day period.

    Lastly what was his reason for selling this item on so quickly, one might assume he broke it and is looking to recover his losses by passing it on to some other poor sucker.
