Would it be stupid to buy a car without viewing it?

Once they reach the Zetec spec I think they look very sharp. Poverty-spec anything rarely looks very good.Good looking but a bit lacklustre for what it costs. Ours are the "our fleet manager is a tight b:mad:tard spec, though
By the way at what point did "Zetec" go from becoming a type of engine to a trim-level whose name gets stuck to the backs of cars?

Why do you reduce the font size? Just means I can't read your posts.0 -

I don't reduce the font size, just change the font.

The size difference, at least to my eye seems so insignificant that it seems like quite a leap to go from being able to read this to unable to read this.
Sorry? What was that? I didn't quite make it out....
I sit back in my chair a lot and the screen is a good 2 feet away, with my eyes already deteriorating, I simply can't read your posts.

Must be something to do with the style of font then rather than the size.Sorry? What was that? I didn't quite make it out....

I'll endeavour to respond to your posts in the standard font in future Wig.

When I buy cars dealers always offer me test drives - including delivering the car to my house for 1-2 days' test driving. This was even offered to me last year when I was after a 2nd hand, 4 year old car costing about £6k.0

Can't really fault that for service.PasturesNew wrote: »When I buy cars dealers always offer me test drives - including delivering the car to my house for 1-2 days' test driving. This was even offered to me last year when I was after a 2nd hand, 4 year old car costing about £6k.
Sounds more like the exception than the norm to me though.:cool:0 -
Another dealer said the car I wanted to test drive was 100 miles away at their other dealership - and they'd send for it.... so they were prepared to have somebody drive it 100 miles here for me to test drive. Can't really fault that for service.

So there are a few out there. That was a Ford dealer too. Maybe it happens mostly in rural areas, where they're desperate for sales.0 -
I bought my car without seeing it from the VW dealership direct, though I test drove one they had locally to make sure I liked the car. (It was a lesser spec than mines, and a lower horsepower)0

Best of luck finding a sales executive whose sales manager will give a price over the telephone.
(Cue all those who will now come out of the woodwork with, "I did it, with my Jagaur XJ, so there." )The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
