We have an R4 card for the ds which has some converted dvd's on for the boys to watch whilst in the car. Sadly it has stopped working (checked it was not the SD card).
I seem to recall an article saying that you can't buy these anymore. (I certainly can't find them listed on the site I got them from originally) Am I correct and if so, is there another alternative for viewing them on the ds.
Thanks

Almost certain to be a software glitch - you need to download and install the correct firmware for the card , the makers site is usually listed on card otherwise you may have to trawl through linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/0

Does anyone know if the R4 cards fit the DSI XL? And we got ours from our local sunday market - he still had them last time I went.0

Yes they fit but it depends on the firmware as to whether it will work, ask the sunday trader what firmware it is running.Does anyone know if the R4 cards fit the DSI XL? And we got ours from our local sunday market - he still had them last time I went.
Also ask him if it is a genuine R4, I doubt it is.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

Ok will try that, thanks. Although I am not holding out much hope as it has been working fine for a couple of years but DS3 got hold of it so I think he may have damaged it

I've never seen a broken r4 cart but I've seen lots which needed correct firmware reloading.

You would need the R4i for the DSi(XL). Also, be 100% sure it's the genuine article. Some fake cards have been known to 'brick' the DS. Like KillerWatt posted earlier, go for the Acekard 2i if you're planning on using it in a DSi or XL.0
