Will Argos allow me to view an item before I buy it.

I want to buy a Sony clock radio from Argos, it's a DAB one with an Ipod dock priced at £89.99.

The description does say that it's DAB, but the photo suggests it isn't as it's different from the photo on the Sony website and shows the non-DAB version.

Would Argos let me view it before I pay, even if it's just looking at the box. I wouldn't want to buy it and find out it's not the DAB version, as it states that the item is exempt from the 30 day money back guarantee.

Interesting post because normal rules of bricks and mortar retailers is once you have paid then you really have no rights for return (unless faulty).

But of course at Argos you pay before bein given the opprotunity to inspect.

If I was in your shoes I would check at the till prior to paying. Wonder what others think?

You should be ok to view it first , just tell the cashier you'd like to see the actual product before buying.

Edited to add I've viewed a camcorder , camera and moble phones even though they've all had the security tabs on the boxes.
  • If you ask to view they'll let you, the you pay if you want it.

I'd hope it is the DAB version for nearly 90 quid! Just ask to view it first. Seems a reasonable request.

  • Argos will normally let you view stuff.. i've often bought it, asked to see it before i take it away, then they'll return it if you don't want it.

Surely though this issue is negated by the fact that if its incorrectly described and not inspected.

If the OP inspects and buys then yes they cannot return it but of you buy it without looking at it, you have comeback if its not right.

I reserved a bracelet at Argos last week as it was the last one available in that branch & when I went to get it a couple of hours later I asked if I could view it before paying. I was allowed to view it and when I agreed to purchase we just went back to the till & paid.
I also saw someone else viewing an item which they decide not to buy & there were no problems.

    Thanks for your replies.

I have looked at the Roberts and I've read a review somewhere that when the radio is playing it doesn't show the time? Kind of defeats the whole object of being a clock/radio.

The chronos I-dock apparently makes a low pitched humming noise. We have had that problem before with previous clock radios.
