On the basis of comments on this post I have done a search for winter tyres and can't find any that are described as winter tyres.
Try "Mytyres" and choose winter tyre option.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

someone earlier said leave winter tyres on all year, this is wrong, they work best at temp below 7c, so put them on in Dec and remove in march, yes they are expensive but whilst they are on the car you arent wearing out your summer tyres, If you can get some cheap rims it is worthwhile, i just have a friendly mechanic swop them round for £20. I drove back from Alps in Jan this year in a blizzard , no snow chains neccesary on the mountain and sure footed on dual carriageway on the ice in lane 2. real good investment.0

forgot to say it is a 2wd skoda octavia, my friends in L/R discovery needed snow chains to get off the mountain0
