If anyone had told me I would spend 90 minutes watching a run-away train film, I would have laughed at them.
But I did !
My cinema was packed - anyone arriving from 15 mins before start were either in the very front rows, or hunting for the odd single seat.
Looking back I am struggling to understand why I enjoyed it so much.
End was very predictable.
Most of story line was predictable.
Although based on a true story, the storylines which had been added for entertainment value were obvious from a mile off...
But I still enjoyed it.
Good points were, the film wasn't too long, and for once they didn't milk the sentimental bits TOO much;)
Think the real surprise for me is how I now view Trains!
No longer cosy Thomas characters, or the dirty late British ones, but huge great American beasts.
Well worth dragging myself out in the dark, cold, wind and rain;)
They never asked for the page from the Mail - which was to be expected I suppose, since I had it !!!
First time I go without the dratted page they will ask for it :p0 -
Have just watched Unstoppable at Vue, Sheffield. It was somewhat confusing as they showed reel 1, reel 3, reel 2 then reel 4. Its probably an excellent film, if shown in the correct order. Thought I had somehow nodded off during the film wthout realising.
The BBC have done this
Years ago on BBC2 just after midnight between Xmas and New Year.
It was a Marx Brothers film that I had seen a couple of times before - Horse Feathers, I think
I remember a few scenes that were in it - I'd need to see it again to be 100%
It was a good job that in those days BBC2 closed down around 2am every night and didn't start up again until breakfast or later.
They showed one reel 3 times and at least one other reel twice :rotfl:
It went something like
Reel 1 followed by reel 3
So they then showed 2 and repeated reel 3 before showing 4
They then showed reel 6 missing out 5
So they went back again but (making a further mistake I presume) put on reel 3 for the 3rd time (I'm guessing they intended to put on 5 or maybe 4)
Anyway reel 3 continued into 4 then 5 & 6 etc. to the end
The entire film overran by about an hour.
When it had finished the channel announcer made some reference to "a small problem" they had had with the film and "hoped that it hadn't spoilt the viewing experience TOO MUCH" :rotfl:
He wished us all a goodnight and apologised for keeping away from their beds any determined viewers that were still up having stayed with the film to the end.
By this time I was :rotfl: hysterically, probably helped by some Xmas cheer  if you know what I mean
So funny -with about 15 minutes left I was half wishing they might repeat reel 2 so that I could just witness what they might do next to bring the film to a satisfactory conclusion

Thanks for letting us know.
Aberdeen must be the only area (on the planet it seems ) not to have a preview of Unstoppable.Invented tradition: Couponology

Cardiff Odeon was about half empty - they were trying to focus the film at the start when the "pirated goods are poor quality" message came on lol
Surprisingly entertraining (ha?)
Its a shame when something the film was dealing with actually happens http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-117126460 -

can i just ask what other people are getting drinks wise, when they see the films as part of the diet coke festival
first week we got a bucket sized cup each, of any fizzy drink from the pump
last week, we were only allowed coke, and they gave one large drink per 2 people (although noticed some people got given two smalls instead)
what exactly are we supposed to be getting, i though it would just be a normal bottle of coke

Hi,
I have just managed to get tickets for the screening on sunday of what I thought was supposed to be the first 2 Girl who... films.
The thing I am having trouble with is the confimation screen says it is a preview of the new film, the girl who kicked the hornets nest.
Anyone know which it is?
If it is the last film I need to see the second one before I go, but if it is the first and second films I don't need to.
Thanks.0 -

I thought it said it was a double screening so you see both. It should say 'Double Bill' on your confirmation0 -
Sorry, Ignore what I said, I'm getting confused with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire0

reply to Flea72 (for some reason it didnt quote the message i am replying to!)
hi, i have been to 2 of these screenings & asked if we could have a different drink (i only drink coke if it has rum in it!) & both times it was not a problem, although if i didnt ask we would have been given diet coke, i am always polite & if they would have said no i would not have made a fuss as it was a free drink anyway & does specify diet coke.
we had no problem being given 2 drinks but got talking to a girl before the Mamma Mia screening & she was told it was 1 drink between 2 people, we told her that was wrong so she went back to ask & apparently was told it wasnt a drink each but the guy said 'here take it' & thrust another drink at her! i felt sorry for her, she was a young teen, but thats the only issue i heard of, although i do think the writing on the voucher is hard to read.'there goes an old transexual, last seen heading south,
