I agree that it's becoming a problem with people posting chat but you have to remember that this is a very popular site and every day new users are discovering it.

Most of the chat is from newbies who deserve the benefit of the doubt the first time they post chat. I don't think the correct approach is posting stern warnings on the forum. I'm certain that the modulators of the forum are sending private messages to those users posting chat in there.

If a user repeatedly flouts the rules then action should be taken but one-off incidents need to be dealt with calmly and politely.

Not all new users to a forum are going to read the first page, they'll skip to the last page to see the most recent posts. Unless there's some way to have a reminder come up every time somebody is replying to a post in there, then I don't see a way to prevent newbies from making newbie errors.

Those who are doing it that aren't newbies need a stern talking to!

    Hi

Have got 2 free sky screening tickets to see C&A's later

Those that have done this before, what is your experience. Always been able to get in? What time is best to get there? Do they let you in before time on ticket? Is there a special queue to queue in? Any help appreciated! It's my birthday today, so it'd be really cool to get in and see it, so want to give myself the best chance!

    Thanks in advance!

Always been able to get in?
I have attended about 9-10 sky movies have always been able to get in.

What time is best to get there?
There has always been a queue when I get there. Since all shows are slightly over-booked, I would say get there about 20-30mins before the start to be sure.
One show for Showfilmfirst was so overbooked that I was turned away even after getting there 30 mins before the start.

Do they let you in before time on ticket?
Usually yes, but is not they will ask you to queue up on the side.

Is there a special queue to queue in?
Usually yes... Yo uusually have to bypass the ticket counter and go to the first person collecting the tickets and directing to the relevant screen.

Any help appreciated! It's my birthday today, so it'd be really cool to get in and see it, so want to give myself the best chance!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY :) :bdaycake: and enjoy the movie :)

The Sky screenings seem to be getting fuller much quicker. Some people seem to get there and hour before the start time. I tend to turn up about 30/40 minutes beforehand but I think that's even pushing it for some screenings.

This is from my experience of Bristol screenings so I don't know how it is elsewhere.

hey cat lover, i would get there atleast 30mins before the film is set to start... so 6pm for a 6.30pm showing, that way you will be guaranteed to get in and get some good seats!

you take your printed tickets to the person who collects "normal tickets" before letting you go through the screen... you don't need to go to box office!

hope this helps... i'm going tonight in brum, they usually have free popcorn too, but those are usually for kids films, but fingers crossed! 8-)

    ps. happy birthday! ;)

Board Guides do not pm anyone that is the problem, all they do is delete so people don't understand what they did wrong.

Just got back from the trafford centre the cinema was full but i dont think anyone was sent away we got there for around 5:45 and there was only a few people in the que. They let us in to the screen at around 6:05 which wasnt bad and no one was asked for i.d either as far as i know as for the film i thought it was actually ok as it had a slow start but i actually picked up in the end i would give the film 7/10 as it wasnt the best film i'd seen but definetly wasnt the worst i would class it as ok

Overall a good night at the cinema
  • Went to Sky showing of Cowboy's and Aliens in Norwich tonight, got there about 18.05 they had to go and check and after about 5 minutes we were allowed to go through and were the last 2 allowed in!

Odeon said to the Sky bloke outside that we couyld go in but no more. When we got in we could see at least 8 seats available, including a row of 5 at the front, went out and told the Sky man and he said,"The cinema isn't allowed to be full because of fire regulations!!!!!" I nearly laughed out loud!!!!
