Yes saw Tangled 3D at Taunton Odeon today. Fantastic film and free glasses were given as well.:j
  • Watched Season of the Witch today (free!!!). Good movie.

How did you get a freebie? Is the film a remake from 70s? Is Nicholas Cage any good?

Saw Tangled at Cineworld, Ashton today. We were also charged for 3D glasses. Quite a few people complaining, one woman had paid £6. We paid £3.20 for 4 pairs, someone else said they paid £1.90 for a pair for a child:eek:.

When I asked the manager why he was charging, he said they had reduced the price of the tickets - I pointed out it was a free preview and that I had never paid for glasses for preview screenings at Vue or Odeon. He said it was a different company and the glasses came out of his budget!

Apart from that, loved the film :)

It was a version Cage made of that fantastic Keitel film in 92! Cage's was a total disaster, the whole cinema was laughing at his "badness".

    Answers are as follows:

    1. Via a friend.

    2. Not a remake to my knowledge (but I might be wrong).

    3. Well, I'm not a Nick Cage fan, but if we take the accurate assumption that marialionza makes about Bad Lieutenant, then move up to The Sorcerer's Apprentice, then progress to Season of the Witch, I would say (imo) that his latest film is an improvement by far. Even my OH liked the movie, and he's someone who gets bored within the first few minutes if a movie doesn't hold his attention. I give all movies a chance, and watch them from start to finish - no matter what.

    HTH

Oh, btw, I forgot to say earlier that I saw a trailer for 'Unknown' starring Liam Neeson, and this movie looked incredible. Reminded me of his action-based Taken. Look out for this one - I feel it'll be a good 'un.

There was certainly a fantastic song in the 60's with the same name

Thanks for the further recommendations. Might take a while to source Life is Beautiful, but I'll let you know what I think of it when I watch it.

I'm now totally up-to-date with Nolan. Following was the only one that I hadn't seen. I even managed to find Doodlebug.

I watched Taken at the cinema twice (both free) - brilliant.

Conviction and Machete both sound good.

I like the sound of 127 hours, but my OH said he thinks it sounds boring, comparing it to Buried, which I really liked but he found monotonous. I'll have to watch 127 hours myself then - lol.

Black Swan is also on my list of things to watch.

Buried was good but rushed towards the end.

127 Hours was good (bit boring at times). I felt Buried in comparison was slightly more entertaining to watch (for me)

    Black Swan - Not interested

Tangled - AMAZING. You know how like when you get emotional and you have to look away to avoid tearing up, I was doing that! There were loads of women and kids left smiling towards the end AND me (a grown a$$ 29 year old man) pussssying out BIG TIME, without making it obvious off course. It is a very good animation and easily makes it in my Top 5!

    Black Swan - Not interested

I watched a clip off it which has sparked my interest, funnily enough, it's been cut from the movie i think.... PHWOARRRR
