I have two tickets for the King's Speech in Cribbs Causeway Vue Bristol - they're from momentum, how do I send the tickets back to momentum (someone else might just be able to get there)?

Short notice but just woke up to no hot water so had to call the plumber :(

    COMBINATON BOILER ????

Common problem - Condensation outlet frozen up.

Sorted out in a few minutes with a hair dryer or even just a kettle of boiling water.

Did my dad's a few day ago.

Short length of pipe sticking out of the wall outside (approximately level with the bottom of the boiler) usually with an elbow pointing downwards - like an overflow - normally drips a very small amount of water when the boiler is fired up and "condensing" like it should.

Thaw it out and the boiler starts working again :)

If you had gone to the cinema (and the sun had shone a few rays on your outlet) it may have been working when you got back :)

    Thanks quoia :)

Central heating is on and working though - I think it's a problem with the diverter valve or the diaghram (she says authoritively from internet research :p).

ETA the plumber thinks we have a frozen pipe in the loft (which is boarded argghhhh). Cold water ok because it's fed up into the boiler, heating ok because it's a closed system. He's looking trying to find it now :(

I do hope there 'll be more tickets for The King Speech for the people that didn't manage to get there.
Colin Firth, who has never been a favourite of mine, will get his Oscar and possibly an OBE.
    Excellent film altogether! :T:T:T
Thanks to those who help us to win !

  • The King's Speech

The movie has been nominated for Golden Globe, which are best picture, screenplay, director, actor and supporting actor and actress.

The cast was great Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter, hopefully will win a Globe! :T

train delayed for more than an hour! gutted! turned back home as no point of being there so late... so wanted to see the King's Speech... so disappointed :(

I really know how you feel today. Left mega early for a Sunday to go to see The King's Speech - 9 a.m (normally leave at 10.30 a.m. on a Sunday for an 11.am. film start). OH got out fine during last snow spell, but this time we got stuck. A full three hours :eek::eek: later we finally managed to get the rear-wheel thing we call a car unstuck (reversing in a rear wheel drive isn't the most fun thing to do - kept just going back into snow, despite after having dug for hours to make tracks for the pesky thing to drive through) and finally managed to park up - back to the same place we drove it out of. I will now have to pay  to see it. I hope everyone who did manage to see it enjoyed it.

Excellent article about how the film came to be made in today's Mail On Sunday

Basically a lifelong obsession of Bertie by the scriptwriter David Seidler who also had a stutter.

Started out well over 30 years ago, via a surviving son of the speech therapist and he found that diaries existed of the time in question.
One problem - a request from the Queen Mum that it not be made in her lifetime. This was 1981.
Little did he know that she would live for another 21 years :(

Some 25 years later but no longer in touch with the therapist's son (thinking he's dead and the diaries "gone") he takes up the reins again
A quirky turn of fate later - Seidler's Uncle David (also a stutterer) was treated for many years by the same "King's" therapist.

  • haven't been able to get to the computer for a while so it would seem I have missed a few freebies hey ho. However, reading through the past few weeks of postings (thought I'd catch up on what I have missed!!;)) I have discovered I can save my pennies by NOT taking OH to see Tron Legacy but still have to pay to take daughter to Narnia...it is our Christmas guilty pleasure - girls day at the cinema...love it :D

Finally managed a festive screening with my FimClub kids (It's a Wonderful Life got cancelled due to snow!:() and screened the latest Christmas Carol - Jim Carey. The kids loved it and actually screamed in places...FAB :T Although in my house The Muppets win the battle of Christmas Carol every time:p
Valuable life advice: never play chicken with a lion...the lion will ALWAYS win!
  • First time tickets come up for Boldon in ages and I missed them... boooo! Still got Gullivers Travels, The Next Three Days and Morning Glory still to come tho :)
